Hello My name is Yasmiri I am 24 years old I have always loved taking care of people I have a lot of experience taking care of elderly mostly from my own Grandma that has diabetes and Alzheimer's. I also am going to school to become a nurse and have worked in a hospital setting as well as the home setting I have experience with people with respiratory disorders as well. I enjoy mostly being a caregiver in the home setting because I grow a greater connection with my patients and they are more comfortable in a home setting.

As someone who loves to surround herself with diverse groups of people, I thrive on learning new things about people daily and growing relationships. I have lost both my mother and a close family friend's mom to cancer and have assisted and managed both hospice care experiences with them. Going through something that hard makes you more grateful for the amazing community who helps you get through it. If I can be that for anyone else, it will be my honor in life. As a caregiver, you get to walk through life with someone and truly be there in a time of need. It's as much about learning as it is about giving to another person. I want to have the impact of just being a kind human who helps others; we could use so much more of that in this life.

Hi, I am a jovial, outgoing individual and I am a great care giver because I enjoy people and serving people where I can. I believe that being a caregiver allows me to truly serve people and help where help is needed the most and that is something that is very rewarding for me. I am also in school to become a Registered Nurse and being a caregiver has been an amazing stepping stone to my field of choice and I believe that it is continuously preparing me to be an amazing Nurse one day very soon. One moment in my care giving experience that I am most proud of is when I was caring for a woman in the late stages of Parkinson's disease. She was difficult to understand and it was difficult for past caregivers to communicate with her. I initiated teaching her Yes and No in American Sign Language and she was able to use her better hand to respond to questions that I asked. I also initiated the company getting a communication device for her as to provide a better route of communication for future caregivers. 1: The reason why I would like to become a caregiver is I love helping people and solving peoples problems. 2: I like being there when people need me or want someone to help them. 3: I have always liked learning new thing and I also got my gold award in girl scouts. 4: I have my Associate's in medical assistant in 2010 from Bryant and Stratton. I am a very bubbly person, I am filled with lots of energy and love. At a young age, I've always knew that the only thing I wanted to do was help and take care of others. From taking care of my niece to being a caregiver for my grandmother, my love for helping others has grown tremendously and I can't imagine doing anything else besides this. The most enjoyable thing about being a caregiver is being able to put a smile on other person's face.

I have had my Masters in Social Work for over 10 years and have over 20 years experience in the social services field. Although in the beginning of my career I worked more with children and adolescents, in the last 10 years I have had the opportunity to work with older individuals in their home as well as in nursing, rehabilitation and assisted living settings. I have found that older adults are more relaxed, comfortable and upbeat when they are able to live in their homes and maintain their independence. I have always enjoyed working hands on and have found my experiences with the elderly population both educational and insightful. My jovial, smiling, approach tends to make it easier for folks to develop a comfort level with me. I have also found that my premature gray becomes a conversation starter and more often than not gets folks curious of my age for which I always explain that my gray reflects wisdom beyond my years. My first experience of geriatric caretaking - outside of family -came with an 82 year old neighbor who approached me to walk her dog. In addition to walking her dog daily I was also running light errands and performing light house work for her.
