I am Virginia Board Certified Nursing Assistant with over five years of home health and assisted living care. After raising four children I returned to school and became certified as a Home Health Aid, Nursing Assistant as well as Phlebotomy Tech. I believe that everyone has the right to quality care, and an advocate to ensure they are treated with dignity and respect. Raising four children has taught me that one must always use and implement active listening skills as well as expect the unexpected. My passion for health care comes from years of experience as a mother, wife and caregiver to family and friends.

I'm a good caregiver because I treat the client as if they are my own family. I'm very caring , responsible, trustworthy and dedicated.

I believe my most useful qualities in this role are patience and kindness. Caregivers must be good listeners and empathetic conversationalists. They should be detail-oriented, diligent problem solvers and have technical medical skills to apply to patients as needed and I believe that I'm a good fit for this position because I love to help and take care about others.

Being a caregiver for the past 8 years has helped me in so many ways. I decided to get into nursing when my mother became sick and couldn't do much for herself and I helped day in and day out. I saw how much of a positive impact it had on her and it made me feel great. I have worked in Hospitals, Nursing Home and Skilled Facilities, Private Duty, cases with Shepard center, brain and spinal injury patients. I love what I do in helping each client I've ever worked with whether it be from recovery start and finish or just companionship and daily living activities. Taking care of someone that needs my help and undivided attention gives me joy and it lets me know how truly appreciated I am to help someone who can't do for themself.

Ive always felt that taking care of people was my calling. I love every aspect of it, everyone you meet has a different story to tell so why not have a reason to spend time with them and listen to who they are. When it comes to caregiving there isn't one thing that i could say i like more than the other, simply because I cherish every moment. When it comes down to being a caregiver I dont look at it as a job, to me its more of taking care of a family member I've never met before.

I am very outgoing and compassionate. I lost someone very close to me due to dementia and Alzheimer's. I know what it's like to be a scared and worried member of a family. I also know that our loved ones didn't ask for this and I try to be the utmost responsive and patient with them. It can be very frustrating for them to go through everyday life and I am there just to make it as easier as I can. I enjoy helping patients everyday and making them feel like they have someone they can rely on always!

I know it's hard to accept limitations and I'm good at helping people to overcome issues that affect their capabilities. I've helped my mother become less stressed and depressed. I've help her become comfortable because I know her needs and wants and cater to them as needed, sometimes before she even needs it.

I have been a professional CNA for 5+ years. I am extremely passionate about helping people in their times of need. I have worked in a facility primarily with Dementia patients as well as private one on one in home care. I am very compassionate and caring which is why I went into nursing as a career. I prefer to care for the geriatric and/or disabled adult population because I feel there is a lack of qualified professionals who work for this population.
