Hi there! You can call me Simi, short for Simren. I first got into the role of caregiving right out of high school. I was taking pre nursing classes and becoming a CNA was a pre requisite. I worked as an in home care aid for 3 years, and found a passion for the medical field as I loved taking care of others! I have lots of empathy and compassion for others, and a great work ethic, I'm constantly looking for ways to evolve and learn. Hi! After witnessing my mother's decline with dementia in an assisted living facility, I KNEW I could provide better care to the aging with more compassion and intuitiveness. I followed my heart to become a caregiver and took the 75 hour training required by Washington State to be a licensed Home Care Aid. I felt this would attest to my professionalism, commitment and integrity toward the care I could offer, and DO offer! I truly love my job. I am respectful, calm, attentive and a good communicator. Listening and understanding are important for everyone involved so I like to keep notes and communicate by phone regularly and often with family and others. This is in the best interest of the client-a loved one aging in their own home. Because of my experience I often have suggestions to help make things easier for the client to stay in their home more comfortably, safely and sometimes more fun! I'm very resourceful! I work well as a team member- whether it be with the family or as a member of a caregiving team for the client. Hello. I am a current UW student, pursing health informatics and nursing. I have spent a year in an assisted living area facility caring for senior citizens. I love providing excellent care for others and this is a way for to gain experience to prepare me for a career in nursing!

As well as having been a direct care worker in Charleston, WV recently, plus during grad school in Seattle with people with scoliosis and cerebral palsy, I have been a business English teacher in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Also I am a writer and songwriter. Really keen on Milwaukee, I am considering live-in positions which will allow me to pursue creative and volunteer activities when I have free time. I am proud of a number of creative achievements, including an eBook, and a song on the radio in the Middle East and North Africa at the time of the Arab Spring. I am currently preparing a music video for and about Ukraine, written at the time Crimea was invaded by Russian tanks. I enjoy working with disabled folks who appreciate my help/work and interesting background.
