My name is Nikki. I have been a certified nursing assistant since 2014, but have been taking care of people since 2000. What attracted me to become a caregiver was taking care of my mother for so long. My mother passed in 2006 and from then on I've been a caregiver. I am a caregiver at night for a client I have had since July 8th of 2015. I am the lead at my job, I handle the medications, doctors apts, payroll, firing, hiring and basically anything you can think of. My job isn't a job it's my life, my career. I have helped take care of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, quadriplegic, cancer, amputations, inserting catheters, condom catheters, pubic catheters, colostomy bags you name it I have done it. What I truly enjoy most about being a caregiver is leaving the clients house knowing that the little time you get to spend with them made a difference. Getting to hear the story's of their life is the most memorable. To hear a client tell you that they love you and they can't wait for you to come back .... Those are the moments that make my career the greatest career in the world.

Hi! Mine name is Amy. I am a mother of 3 beautiful daughters! And i have 7 wonderful grandchildren, who are my world!! I have always been a caregiver! I started when i was 9yrs. Old when my Great Grammy had Dementia in a bad way I dont think i left her side!! But its carried thru and i ended up taking care of my Grammy for 4yrs. As she aged, intill she passed. And here i am, still going strong!! I love people!! I love leaving a home and knowing that i made a difference that, and every day!!!

I'm very compassionate and empathetic,I became a caregiver because I was hospitalized for 5 months and know the struggle, I had bad and good nurses and I wanted to become one of the good nurses. I love taking care of people. It's one of the best qualities I have as a person, and a caregiver. I'm a proud mama to 2 boys. I take pride in the work I do. I always try and make everyone I take care of feel special.

I'm 21 years old and have been a caregiver for developmentally dealyed adults 3 years now. Before this, I worked at childcare centers. I think I make a good caregiver because I have a mother hen type of personality. I love bonding with people and taking care of others. I like ending my day feeling like I made a difference in someone's life. I have worked with many different clients and am used to cooking meals, helping with personal hygiene, giving meds, ect. I also can provide companionship.
