1.) What makes me a great caregiver? I love my b. A great caregiver is one who love to help and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty. A great caregiver must have a selfless heart and be a active listener. If you care first, work hard, and be a willing listener you can develop a routine for your client that will help them thrive not just exist. I have the opportunity to bring a little sunshine in the lives of folks whose health has been comprise.I love the opportunity to help and make a difference in the lives I touch. 2.) Why did I become a caregiver? Growing up n a large family it was me doing the care giving something that came natural and I enjoyed. After high school I knew I wanted to be someone who loves helping and taking of others. 3.) What do I like about being a caregiver? I have the opportunity to bring a smile or bring a bit of joy to a seniors life It makes me feel good. Most seniors are usually dealing with health challenges of some sort. Sometimes they are consume with their illnesses and may not have something to smile about. If I can make their day a little bit better that is a great day. 4.) What is a personal achievement I am proud of? I had a female client who was paralyzed from the waist down she was a senior who wanted to go to the dinning room to eat dinner

I became a caregiver because my aunt was suffering with ovarian cancer and she had no one to take care of her. She lived in Kern City by herself. I took care of her for the last three months of her life. It was very emotional but it was also very uplifting. I helped her move on and it was a very wonderful experience. The personal achievements I am proud of has to do with my background. At the age of 42 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a double mastectomy, chemo and radiation. When a person lives through a diagnoses like this their outlook on life changes. I want to help people now. I want to make life easier on others if I can. Life is precious and tomorrow is not a promise. I've been married for almost 15 years to a high school PE teacher and basketball coach. I have 2 daughters and a son. They are all adults now and live on their own. I put down 24 years experience because I believe as a mother, you are always a caregiver from the moment your children are born. You are always on call, there is always a problem, and you never stop caring. My parents live in Kern City and I help them out as often as they need me. My mother just had a hip replaced so I also took care of her.

1. I decided to become a caregiver because I wanted a job where I could give back to someone as someone does for my grandparents. 2. I love being a caregiver because I got to know everyone single one of my clients on a individual bases, knowing what they like, dislike, etc 3. Along with my First Aid and CPR Certifications, and one year and six months of extensive experience as a caregiver and certified nurse assistant, also three years of extensive experience as a residential aide. When I was around the age of sixteen my grandmother became ill, she didn't want to leave the comfort of her own home, since I visited her often to help her with her daily chores , she asked me if I could make it possible that she could live at home , without question I agreed and for the next ten years I helped her. In return the experience was so rewarding and fulfilling I knew in my heart that was what I was destined to do. The fact I could help someone remain at home and live some what independent. I became a caregiver by accident--I was offered a job to take care of a friends parents and I loved it. I cared for them in their home until they both passed away. I really felt good helping their life better. We got along well and really had lots of fun and I was getting paid for it. That was over 20 years ago and I am still a caregiver. I have done home care, hospital, and hospice at home and in a facility.

To spend time with the elderly Making the clients smile I make the clients feel safe and trust me I am a loving and caring person who likes to help other people.I enjoy spending time with the elderly to let them know someone still cares.

I have been a caregiver for the past 10 years I enjoy helping people especially the elderly. I absolutely love what I do. I became a full time caregiver 3 years ago when I tragically lost my son. God gives us all a special gift I think mine is caregiving.

I loved to see the elderly smile and I helped my mom take care of my Grandma till she passed away ... the appreciation and the Love from the Elderly and handicapped I care for.. being able to help this old man find how to contact his Wife who was in the Hospital and I also was able to get this Lady to feel like laughing after being so miserable for having to be in a memory Care facility..
