I started working as a Home Health Aide since August of 2016 and I have my certificate. I try my best in everything I do as a Home Health Aide, I'm reliable, trust worthy and still learning as I go. I can assist/remind with medication, assist with getting dressed, assist on small meal preparation, help with cleaning and just to be a companion.

I became a caregiver because I have always been very close to my own grandmother and have always been there for her when she needed a little extra care. My first caregiving position was in 2015 where I worked at a summer camp for adults with physical and mental disabilities. I became a home caregiver because I love being able to provide comfort, help and trust to patients that no longer can do for them self. I was taking care of my granparents but can no longer do that because they now live in another state. They are not getting the care that they deserve due to health care guidelines in that state. The best part about being a Home Health Aide for me is the sense of fulfillment that you gain from working in this field. You feel like you are making a difference in someone's life, which in turn, makes you feel good about yourself. I have worked with clients with ailments such as diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's, cancer and stroke. Usually my task will include assisting with showers, assisting with dressing, meal preparation, medication reminder, light housekeeping and grocery shopping. I can easily cope with new challenges, and interact effectively with people that I haven't worked with yet. I am also willing to go beyond expectations when it comes to work and being involved.
