I have been a senior companion for over 10 years. When I work with seniors, I take it very personal to see them satisfied and happy. I tune in with their personalities and preferences, and adjust our activities according to what they enjoy, what empowers them and what keeps their emotional, mental and health condition as good as possible. I am flexible, and adjust easily to what my clients need. I become their best friend and feel like a family. We have fun, stay safe and healthy. Caring for an elder person is a very personal business and their quality of life and health depend on it. I saved lives, made lives better and always have my client's best in heart. My career as a senior companion happened very naturally and holistically. It didn't start as a career but as a neighbor helping neighbor and friend helping friend. Helping "straight from my heart", with my natural tendency to be there for people in need, became a profession as a natural progression of what I love to do and what I am good at. So far all my clients have been very happy with my service and I am looking forward to helping you.

I am the proud daughter of a WWII Navy Veteran who was an amazing father, husband, uncle, and friend to many. He taught me to have respect for my elders and to give back in any way possible to a generation who gave so much of themselves for us all. I spent several years helping to care for my mother who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. I later became a daily companion for 2 years to my mother-in-law, who suffered from cancer and dementia. I was present when both passed away. For the past 12 years, I have provided companionship and care to many elderly folks, right in their (or a loved one's) home. Getting to know my new friends is a priority, and engaging in meaningful conversation which stimulates the mind is an essential part of what I do. I am careful to acknowledge a person's capabilities and strengths as well as their weaknesses. As needed, I will assist with: reading, writing, eating, ADL's (activities of daily living) including walking, mobility devices, medication reminders, personal grooming and dressing. I can also do light house work, prepare meals, drive to appointments, and run errands. I am able to assist and guide, but not lift or transfer. I am trustworthy and very loyal. I became a caregiver when my sister got diagnosed with breast cancer. I helped her with everything until she passed. I did the same for my own mother until she passed at 91 years old. Since then i've worked in the industry for over ten years. The smile i see on the faces i'm helping is overwhelming at times, and encourages me to continue to help those in need. What i like most about being a caregiver is meeting different families and helping make an impact in their lives.
