I took care of my own Mother when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and I worked too. I have experience in brain injury, Parkinson's, Diabetes, Cancer all types and many more. My mother had Lupus for as long as I could remember in my childhood. I would often accompany her to doctor appointments, dialysis treatments, and when I was allowed I would stay overnight with her at the hospital (which was a lot). I would help bathe her and basically just spend time with her, we had so much fun telling stories together. When she was in the hospital I was the little mom at home shopping for meals, cleaning and taking care of the house while going to school, this was my life between the ages of 7-15 years. My mother passed away when I was 15 but I was left with amazing memories of caring for my mom in her most vulnerable time of her life, what an honor. My most relative paid-experience was being a nanny to young children in Oakland, as well as being a general personal assistant helping people to organize their personal life and business. When I was in high school my grandparents became the primary caregivers for my great-grandmother. At first it was not to large of a task to care for my grandmother but eventually we all needed to step in and do our part to aid in her care. Being only 16 years old naturally I was very nervous and skeptical about some of the things I would need to do but I loved my grandmother very much and knew she needed me most in those moments. Aiding in the care of my grandmother is the reason I chose to work in this field. The reward I receive from my job is seeing the joy in my client's knowing they are being cared for with dignity and respect. One thing I am very proud of myself for is being able to see beyond a person's basic need and being able to form a bond with each and every person I come in contact with. I believe I am an excellent caregiver because I am compassionate, patient, trustworthy, reliable and most importantly I take the time to listen.

My experience and background is within Emergency medical services, I spent my time on the ambulance responding to ALS 911 calls and caring for sick patients. I currently in the Emergency Room, assisting MDs in various procedures, and assisiting RNs with patient care. I am an Emergency Medical Technician or in the hospital known as an Emergency Clinical Technician.
