I became a caregiver because of 2 main reasons. 1st is I believe that being a caregiver brings spiritual treasures that will not spoil or be taken away. As a hospice aid for 7 years I realized that we or our spirit belongs to a place where we will no longer suffer. 2nd I always pray for my time when my body also become old and fragile. When that time comes I will also like to be treated the same way I treated my client, with respect, compassion and care. The thing I like about caregiver is the joy that I get after the client passes away and hear from family and friends that I have done a good job. The personal achievement that I can say was from my last case with a couple in Los Altos where the husband died. I was live-in for five days and at the final days of the client I remained with him all night and called the children early in the morning to come and say their final respect to their Father. And surely it was his last day and the children was so appreciative of it. Just a quote from his recommendation letter "It is my absolute pleasure to write this recommendation letter. What makes myself a great caregiver is I am compassionate, caring,patient,empathetic,and loving, I enjoy what I do for others. What encouraged my choice to do caregiving, My Father, he had a massive CVA in 2009 and since then my experience has driven me more towards helping not only family but those who need it. My biggest accomplishment in being a caretaker is the priceless moments of appreciation with my clients and there families.

I've been a caregiver for the past three years. I've worked with children with autism, Alzheimer's patients and people with physical disabilities. I've learned how important it is to listen to my clients and respect their wishes

I have always felt the need to help people. Being able to make a difference in someone's life is the best feeling. My greatest accomplishment is being able to allow someone to stay in their own home while receiving help. I have been care giving since I was 17. My first client was my Grandfather who had dementia. Having him being my family has always made me treat others as if they were my own loved one. I am dependable, trustworthy and a kind person. I know being a caregiver is a big commitment, caregivers are depended on.

Ever since i was a child i watched my mother be a caregiver. I love the fact of being able to put a smile on someone's face and to have them know that I do care.

I became a caregiver because I wanted to know how to take care of my ailing grandfather. In 2002 I had applied and got into the CNA program at Sun bridge Care facility in Watsonville, CA. I helped my grandmother with my grandpa until he passed than I started working with Sun Bridge in 2003 for a few years. I like to talk, and love to listen to all of those important life lessons and interesting lives they had led. I have learned so much while working as a CNA, I loved it. I have now achieved one of my goals and that is to get into Nursing School, and become a nurse. I always wanted to become a nurse and now I am. I am a mother of 3 and I have so much patience and care to give. I am very careful and have a lot of experience with the elderly. I am currently a Licensed Vocational Nurse and I am seeking a dependable position to apply my nursing knowledge and provide the best possible care to each and every patient.

I am proud of self as I was able to take care of my mother and others while working in retail. I managed to utilize my caregiving skills and was able to market myself through other programs and be on registered list with FREED and In Home Support Services. I began as a teen when I first learned how to take care of elderly as I was raised by my grandfather and other elder relatives and began to study nutrition and other gerontology topics while in college. My name is Priscilla, I've been doing caregiving since 2014 and got certified in 2016. What made me look into getting certified was because I would take care of my great grandmother until she passed.
