My trait in care giving can from having a mother how had muscle dystrophy and a daughter who has CP too and I have been taking care of people all my life and I love it so much and I do a good job too not one complaint

Hello, Having nineteen years of experience under my belt, I have enjoyed being in the healthcare, and it is my passion even today. My experience covers the fully disabled, needing 100% care, to those who are ambulatory and just needs companionship and housekeeping. My experience and training also covers those with Dementia and Alzheimers. I have cared for my loved ones, which can be heartbreaking, so I am fully aware of the cares of close family members. I am. Certified as a CNA as well as CMA. I have served as a nurses aid for two years and as a care giver for fifteen years. Love taking care of people my whole life, I always was a people person,I was told by my peers that I have a gift and that this is my calling, this is my passion, I'm proud that I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of with different cultures and experience with different kinds of patients at providence hospital for 20 years it was a wonderful experience for me and a great place to work.

I am one of the most empathetic caregivers you will meet. I first became a caregiver in 2002 as an STNA with extensive training. I enjoy being able to help with ADLs , but still allowing the client/resident/patient to be as independent as possible. I enjoy helping to increase client's/resident's/patient's will to live. I will/have alway respect the client's/resident's/patient's rights and adhere to all HIPPA laws. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is the time I changed a resident's entire temperament towards the staff by simply showing him that I actually care. He was a combative dementia patient. Being a hair stylist, I would cut his hair and line him up. The constant compliments received from the staff and residents boosted his confidence and definitely increased his will to live. Although, that was many years ago the thought of it still warms my heart.

I started caring for both my parents but at different times when they were diagnosed with cancer yrs ago, my dad saw how I was with mom & from the time a also cared for him he knew it was my calling & he was comfortable in my care. Then just within the past year I was able to care for my mother in law as well. I just feel compassionate about caring for others & it's such a rewarding experience everyday to know I'm making a difference in someone's life! The most rewarding experiences I recall is when new accomplishments are made & to see their faces show such excitement. There's always something to be thankful for at the end of the day,

Ive always felt that taking care of people was my calling. I love every aspect of it, everyone you meet has a different story to tell so why not have a reason to spend time with them and listen to who they are. When it comes to caregiving there isn't one thing that i could say i like more than the other, simply because I cherish every moment. When it comes down to being a caregiver I dont look at it as a job, to me its more of taking care of a family member I've never met before.
