I have been doing caregiving for 20 years. Either in assisted living or home care. Worked with a lot of family care giving and hospice care. I enjoy helping people with everyday living and assisting family as needed.

What helps me be a great caregiver is that I am a very compassionate and patient person. I treat your loved ones as one of my own family members. I make sure I listen to all their needs, wishes, and wants, and I try my best to make that happen. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is that I feel the need to make sure your loved ones are taken care of properly and getting their ADL's met daily. I do this because that is how I would want someone to treat my loved ones. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I am able to have conversations with your loved ones daily, and to make sure that I am the reason their life and your life is 100% easier. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I pushed myself to enroll in a CNA Class and to push myself to give my son a better life then I had.

I became a caregiver at the age of 19. I have been employed in nursing home facilities and by individuals (couples). I have cared for my grandparents while they suffered from cardiac issues, dementia, anurisuims, and kidney failure. I have owned and operated a group child care facility while my children were growing up. I have raised three of my own children, a neice, nephew, and two grandchildren. I have worked for over 14 years as our church nursery supervisor. I am fun, energetic, creative, dependable, and resourceful. I have cared for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, ALS, HNPP, heart conditions, incontinence, cancer. I am able to assist with personal needs, (dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, medications, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, errands, appointments, yard work, physical and memory exercises), and most of all provide companionship. I feel it is important for individuals to engage in activities (as they are able). I am very resourceful, creative, reliable and dependable. I am trained empathic listening skills, grief, c-pap, bi-pap, cough assist, feeding tube, basic first aid, adult and child/infant CPR certification. I have a clean driving record. I just moved here from Arizona, to come and be with my husband's family. Getting use to alot of new things. I have three kids of my own and three step kids as well as two grandchildren and two more on the way.
