My name is Shanique , I'm 27 and I'm a mother . I love to help and take care of others . I been in the healthcare field for 8 years and I plan on keeping it as my career . I'm self motivated . I love to decorate , cook and read books .

I have been doing caregiving for 20 years. Either in assisted living or home care. Worked with a lot of family care giving and hospice care. I enjoy helping people with everyday living and assisting family as needed.

What helps me be a great caregiver is that I am a very compassionate and patient person. I treat your loved ones as one of my own family members. I make sure I listen to all their needs, wishes, and wants, and I try my best to make that happen. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is that I feel the need to make sure your loved ones are taken care of properly and getting their ADL's met daily. I do this because that is how I would want someone to treat my loved ones. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I am able to have conversations with your loved ones daily, and to make sure that I am the reason their life and your life is 100% easier. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I pushed myself to enroll in a CNA Class and to push myself to give my son a better life then I had.

I have over 20 years experience in the healthcare field. I have worked with all types of patients. I have colostomy, uriostomy, trach care, g-tube feeds, straight cathing. I am patient, kind and compassionate. I have worked extensively with alzheimer's and dementia patients. I know the key is to keep their mind sharp, however that happens. Puzzles, games, or just talking about memories that keep them thinking. I like to think outside the box and get the job done. I have a great sense of humor and my clients feel at ease with me. I treat them as if they were my mom, dad, grandma, grandpa etc.

I'm a licensed CNA with 3 years of experience assisting clients via home care. CPR certified. I'm able assist with activities of daily living including companionship, grooming, bathing, dressing, meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry, ambulation, rides to appointments, medication reminders, etc. I have a gentle bedside manner and pleasant demeanor. Punctual and reliable.

I have a strong affinity to Seniors and believe that they are entering in a unique but confused time in their life. They are proud and have worked hard in their life and unfortunately the world as tech savvy as it is has created additional confusion to their life than necessary. I have great care and compassion with anyone with differing needs. I have been around the world in missions in SA, USA teaching and working with children and adults with differing needs. I have taught handicapped children therapeutic riding, I have taught adults with differing needs how to connect to technology to see a bigger world and gain enjoyment by using a computer. I am a extremely caring and compassionate young lady that has lost her father to Dementia. I have seen all sides and respect the changes that occur. I have worked for a large facility and did medicine management as well as direct resident care and any chore the resident required. I appreciate the fact that most of our elders are not in need of being in a community, however, they may just need that helping hand at home that assists in day to day tasks that they can no longer do. I am willing and capable to drive the resident to their necessary appointments or grocery shop or whatever or where ever they need to go,

I love people! All people! Everyone has a story, a life filled with so many experiences. I love to talk and even more, I love to listen. I especially love the elderly and I believe they are very underserved by our communities. They have so much to share, so much wisdom & talent. I am high energy but I'm low key. I respect people & their wishes even if they are not the same as mine. I love to help. I have always been a caregiver & always will be.

I've spent most of my working years doing home health aide work. I go to clients homes and they to help them be as independent as they can be, but help in any way that they need it. I love being able to be there for clients when they dont have anyone else to talk to. I've been sick and was diagnosed with crohns and I needed alot of help for awhile so I underatand wanting privacy but still needing help in the bathroom. I understand how it feels to need help when you want to be able to do it all yourself. I'm very compassionate and very hard working.
