I was a caregiver to a quadriplegic professor when I was in college to help pay for my tuition. After college, I continued doing private care on the side for some Alzheimer patients at a nursing home. In 2004, I enrolled at a nursing school for a year and a half. I did not finish my degree, but I did receive my certification as a CNA and as a Medication Technician. I keep up to date with the newest discoveries and findings in the world of medicine. Even though I have not had any new medical training, I am current on my knowledge of diseases, medications and side effects of such medications. For instance, I am aware that when you care for an Alzheimer's patient, you step into his/her world, and not insist that he/she conforms to your expectations of what is real. I am compassionate and capable. All of the kids are either all grown or almost grown, but I still have this vast need to nurture. My husband refuses to be smothered, so, I need to go out of the house and find someone else who would appreciate being cared for :-) My kids are my biggest accomplishment. The eldest is going to medical school this summer, and the middle one is attending UMKC in August. The youngest one is doing great as a Sophomore while giving out just enough sass to maintain her teenage status.

Growing up I have always been very interested in helping people for their daily living. I am kind, gentle, and very compassionate person. What attracted me to being a caregiver was generally to help people and advocate for people. What enjoy most about being a caregiver is to be able help people in their sickness and you see how their health improves. One of my personal achievements is to be able to graduate from school, proud of that.

I am a passionate individual that has been in the healthcare field since 2005. I have been a certified medication tech, I hold a current Red Cross Instructor certification, Am a public notary, and love helping individuals.

I have 5 years of care giving and direct support experience.

I started as a caregiver when I was about 16 years old. My grandmother was very sick at the time and on hospice, I cared for her until she passed. After she passed, I started working in nursing homes and group homes as well as home care. My favorite so far has been home care, I love the 1 on 1 attention and care you can give. There is no rush and seems much less stressful to have a good experience with your caregiver. Some things i enjoy about being a caregiver is spending time with my clients and helping them in their everyday needs. I also enjoy the stories they tell :). A personal achievement I am very proud of, I attended Nursing school and had high honors all of my semesters with a GPA of 3.9. I enjoy spending time with my 9 month old daughter and husband. I also enjoy gardening, scrap booking and being outside in the summertime. :)

I became a caregiver because for one I have a visually impaired daughter who is almost blind and I grew up with my brother who the new hip socket was Barbinos soffit guess and my mother was a CNA/CMT my sisters a pharmacy tech and I volunteered for three summers in a row when I was younger at the Veterans Affairs hospital so it's kind of in my blood and I love and enjoy helping people.

41 year old Female, US Army Veteran, Police and Firefighter Academy Graduate. Computer Network Admin, Microsoft Certified Professional and Emergency First Responder Certified. I couldn't run fast enough to be a officer and I was too kind to be a police officer. I didn't become a firefighter because I didn't feel strong enough to swing a axe effectively, but it was very fun to carry a grown man down a 50 foot ladder two times and fight a real fire. I am ready to help you and your family. I am looking for a part-time job Saturday nights after 8pm until 1pm Sunday mornings. I can listen / tell stories, play games, help with meals and medication.
