Being a Caregiver is pretty much second nature to me. I have acted as a Caregiver since I was nine years old Assisting elderly grand parents. In high school I studied Allied Health Science and later became a Nursing Assistant. I loved it. Every day was a new challenge and completing each challenge was its own reward. Although I would have to say that. I thought it was awesome that a gentleman stopped me in the grocery store to tell me thank you for saving his life. He said continuing to do CPR until help arrived although everyone else walked away saved his life. All I could do was think about how bad felt knowing that guy died

I think patience and compassion are essential. This is a job that requires a lot of tolerance for challenging situations, and good communication and a positive attitude also go a long way. Additionally, you need endurance and physical ability to support patients with certain tasks. I love to go above & beyond to make others happy & 100% comfortable.

I ABSOLUTELY love helping/caring for others, it makes me FEEL good,like I'm GIVING them freedom of living at home, a chance of living out the best where they have tons of memories, without having to be put into a care place! Having over 11+ yrs of experience of being a professional Personal Care Aide, in home & live in facilities , as well, I've worked with dementia patients as well as others who just needed a caring hand, and I'm a VERY compassionate person who is responsible and reliable. I CAN be on call if NEEDED! I've always enjoyed & respected my ELDERS, it's just part of being myself, an Empath,plus they have so much wisdom to share with someone who TRULY CARES & I FEEL like this is my TRUE calling!
