Hello, My name is Leilani, considering I'm the oldest out of 6 children I know everything there is to know about team work. I currently work as a in-home care provider in penfield ny, taking care of an elderly woman who has COPD. But I live in Hamlin ny, distance is no problem, Ive worked on multiple cases with individuals/family's that suffer from Parkinson's disease, heart failure, Alzheimer's, dementia, developmental disabilities etc. Along with my care I can provide organization (meal preparation, medication log, light housekeeping) grocery shopping/errands, bathing/clothing, changing catheters & depends, I also have reliable transportation and references. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in health care my senior year in high school when I volunteered as a classroom aide everyday after school 11am-2 p.m. working with children who had developmental disabilities. I've participated in the Special Olympics and also lots of separate field trips/ activity

I love being a caretaker and being able to make a difference in someone's day. I also have applied to the LPN nursing program to further on my career as well because I enjoy taking care of others. I have been doing this for quite some time and can't see myself doing anything else besides that.

I have been a LPN for 14 years and I absolutely love what I do. I feel it is a gift to be able to help someone in need. It makes me so happy when I am able to enlighten someone's days, motivate them to accomplish something that they didn't feel was possible and to help them with the tasks that they are unable to do alone. I take pride in the care that I provide and treat every one of my patients as a unique individual. I have always established excellent relationships with not only my patients but their family as well. I have been told that when I am taking care of their loved one they feel a sense of comfort and know that their needs will be met 100%. While I attended school I also worked a FT job while having a little one at home to me that was an accomplishment that I am very proud of. I am very reliable, compassionate, professional, hard working and have a great sense of humor. I was diagnosed with Chrones disease 8 years ago and spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals so I can sympathize with those who depend on others, at times feel helpless, debilitated and in pain. I have been through those emotions as well. I feel it has made me a stronger nurse who knows the true meaning of bedside manners. I enjoy many hobbies such as Jewlery making, gardening, exercising, scrapbooking and my daughter and I do volunteer work for pet adoptions. I absolutely adore animals I find the bond to be very theraputic.

I have worked in geriatrics with well-aged and the frail elderly my entire career. I know the importance in keeping a loved one home in their own bed as long as it is physically unsafe. I have worked as an assisted living nursing director and administrator, was the Erie County Ombudsman Director, operated a social day care and must rewardingly work hands on with the elderly. I enjoy interacting with people and their families. I have been the primary caregiver for both my parents so I know the love and devotion needed to transition into caregiver from child.
