I am a dedicated State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA/CNA) with over 15 years of experience as a caregiver and have provided care to individuals in different settings. I value integrity and compassion as key in pursuit of my career and strive to achieve this with the principle of treating people how you want to be treated. I started caregiving as part time while in college and it turned out to be a humbling and rewarding career for me. I got into caregiving on accident. I was looking for employment and a friends suggested I apply at her job which was Alzheimer's assistant living. I got the job and realized I loved it! I became state tested and have been in this line of business for 14 years. I love taking care of people who can't fully take care of themselves. There is pride in helping others and I am humble that God chose me to be the voice and care taker for some who can't express their needs and others who just need help along the way. I am proudest of accomplishing my PCA II which is a promotion from PCA acknowledging I am proficient in my level of expertise and care. I am also a safety coach and a proud member of the safe patient handling committee at my current employer that looks at proper ergonomics and equipment that keep both the patient and caregivers safe and free from injury. I do not have a car but I do use Lyft and Uber to travel if that's okay.
