Hello, my name is Veronica Burke, and I am a mother of 4 wonderful children. I am a preschool teacher since 2002 till now and I love what I do. I love being a preschool teacher because, when my little people come to me begging of the school year with crying, faces, being scared, and nervures and curious at the same time, I couldn't help it but give them all the love, care, and attention that they need because I believe you can't learn in unwanted or unsafe environment. Throughout the months of school, I got to know their strength and weaknesses. By May, they are on their way to kindergarten. The question that I always ask myself is, did I give them the tools they need for this big moment of their lives. My answer is always yes. Before CORVID I was working weekends and some evening's hours taking care of elderlies by assisting them daily activities such as medication reminders, light housekeeping, bathing, assist in toileting and sometimes transportation to appointments or grocery. I do file a report of any accident or up normal event that happened while am on duty. Working with younger children and older adult has been very interesting moment of my life and I love it.

For me, being a caregiver isn't just a career. It's my calling in life. I feel as though it's what I was put here to do. My very first job at age 18 was as a caregiver for a lady with MS. I cared for her as a live in for nearly three years with one day off weekly. I then moved to direct care for disabled individuals and have accumulated several years experience. I am certified in first aid/ CPR, medication administration, insulin trained, and have a wide path of experience to fall back on. I was also caregiver for my mother for five years until she passed from ALZ. I am currently attending college studying Human and Social Services to better provide for those I work with and for. I believe that being a caregiver requires a special individual, just as special as those I care for. I have always felt that the individuals I have met and worked with have each been a blessing in their own way and I am the lucky one for having them in my heart and life. I view my clients as family, nothing less. I am dedicated, sincere, patient, full of good humor, not easily upset, and my greatest joy is making others happy. That's the biggest benefit of all. Hello! My name is Emily Thornton, I am 20 years old. I have lived most of my life in Delaware, OH. Since I was little, I have enjoyed working with older adults. I enjoy listening to the stories they have to tell. Being a caregiver has been amazing - I have worked with many wonderful clients. Through my work and educational experience, I have gained a lot of knowledge about older adults and the needs they have. In the future, I would like to be a social worker for the aging population. Currently, I am studying Social Work at The Ohio State University. I will be completing my internship at the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging. Working with older adults has been a passion for me! I became a caregiver because its my passion to take care of others. The best part of being a caregiver is that making sure the person that can't take of themselves are well taken care. The personal achievement is when they thank you so much for coming and so happy you are there to take of them. I am 28 years old. I am have never been married and I don't have any kids. Taking care of other has always been my passion. I have been a caregiver about 4 years. I am being doing home health care for 3 years. I am reliable and have excellent transportation. I am just looking for something on the weekends.

I became a caregiver because I watched my Grandma in the nursing home get treated poorly and I wanted to make a difference in at least one person's life. I make a good caregiver because I treat everyone like they're my family; I'm loving, caring, and very compassionate about what I do.

When I was a stay at home mom, my mother became seriously ill, it was then when I decided to become a Certified Nurse's Aide. My husband and I moved in with my parents so I could give around the clock care for my mother until she passed in '07. I then worked in a Hospital for only a few months and decided that kind of enviornment just wasn't for me. Since then I have been working in Nurseing Homes and love the feeling of family and friends, there is a feeling of closeness, respect, and love I develope for my patient/resident that I personally cherish, and helping others in a loveing and careing way.

I like that I am able to help someone meet their daily needs who can no longer do those things for themselves. It is important to me that my clients are well taken care of. 3. A personal achievement I am proud of is continuing my education in the medical field. 4. I am currently a college student studying health information management technology.

I grew up an a family of EMT/Firefighters/Caregivers, so it was pretty much in my blood so to speak. I enjoy helping others. I enjoy being able to help others with things that are difficult now for them to do, and the smile it brings to their face, it gives me a sense of comfort knowing I made their day better. A personal achievement I am proud of is that I am currently working FT, going to school, and am the mom of a 4 year old little boy, and have maintained fantastic grades, and made the deans list. I enjoy keeping myself busy, spending time with my family, and getting to know new people, especially the families of the people I take care of.
