Hello! I owned & operated a boutique home care agency serving seniors for fifteen years prior to selling the agency and moving to SC with my husband and two boys a couple years ago. I absolutely love spending time with seniors. I enjoy providing companionship and listening to their stories. I love to cook! I am able to assist with all activities of daily living including light housekeeping, cooking, personal care, transportation, medication, exercise... I have extensive training/experience working with dementia as well as many other conditions. I am honest, compassionate, reliable and hardworking. I became a caregiver when I went back to college to get my BA in 2015. I had no idea how rewarding it would be or how well it would suit me! As a mother of a 1st grader and the daughter of elderly parents, I have more experience than my employment in the field would suggest. I am a naturally caring, trustworthy, and empathetic person. Being a caregiver means helping someone live their life to the fullest extent possible in a happy healthy environment. In my last year of college, I concentrated on social gerontology and my senior thesis was on age-segregation of the elderly. I am especially proud the genealogy researched for my last client. She was so pleased to have that record of her family's history and it was a project we could enjoy together.

I am naturally a kind, caring, nurturing, and entertaining individual and that is why I think Nursing works so well for me. I recently completed my Associates of Applied Sciences degree, just one step to getting my BSN. My grandmother has lived with my family my entire life and that's where my nurturing nature started. In college I took care of my aunt 7 days a week until she passed away from ALS, and I loved being the only person she trusted in her most vulnerable hours. This time with her gave me extended experience with patients with very limited mobility or bound to a hospital bed, alternative feeding methods, ventilators, lifts, and plenty of at home physical therapy. I have a leader personality and good time management skills. It's truly a feeling I could never get tired of being called on by someone who absolutely needs my help, and I would love to be a calming constant for your family too!
