I knew I wanted to be a caregiver it was 2013 and my dad came terminaly I'll with stage 4 liver cancer my step mom and took care of him at home.My personal achievement is some of the rewards I got from work employee of the month back in 2020 and whatever it takes award in 2005 .

Hi, My name is Maurie Ann. I earned a Bachelor's degree and completed the 15 hours of course work needed to work as a nursing facility administrator. I have been a caregiver since I was 7 years old. I have cared for both of my grandmothers, friends, neighbors, and many other clients. I also have worked 15 years in security. So, I have a very protective nature. I have cared for clients with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, Heart Disease, COPD, AFIB, MS, Diabetes with and without insulin, Full assist, standby assist, live in and live out. I am a super friendly, caring, hardworking, problem solver, who loves deeply. I see my clients as family and treat them with the love and respect that I would want for my own loved ones. I got into private care because I saw what my grandma went thru (they nearly killed her) in her short stay at a rehab and vowed to make a difference in her life and others by caring for them, allowing them to stay home and be as independent, safe, and happy as possible. I am the friend, daughter, granddaughter, and helper. I do live-in at $225 per day, or shift work at $20 per hour (preferably 12 to 16 hour shifts). I started caregiving when I was 19 yrs old and fell in love with it! So hear I am 23 years later still caregiving and helping others. I feel its so rewarding helping others. In December of 2021 I received my certification to become an End of Life Doula. I've always worked for companies but recently branched off on my own to be able to focus on giving clients more one on one personal care! I treat my clients as I would want someone to treat my family.

I have been doing Home Health since 2009. I have been doing live in Private Duty Home Care off and on for the same individual for the last 11 years. At one Home Health Company I was promoted from caregiver to The Assistant to the Administrator and I was given the position as Intake Coordinator.
