I am a very caring person and I enjoy helping others.

I consider myself of being a great caregiver because I have a good personality, I'm always smiling, I do not take any of my social or personal life to my job, I never leave a job that I haven't finished and if I get in a situation that's complicated I will take all the time it takes to figure out the problem, I am very dependable and always on time, I have patience and highly respect my clients or elders. What attracted me to being in the medical field was that I am a loving person that care and enjoy helping people with their daily needs. After I helped my mom take care of my dad almost 23 years ago, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer, that's all I've had a passion for every since, traveling from client to client. I really enjoy the companionship and some of the funny stories my clients have to tell about the past,. I like to make them feel that it's somebody in the world that still loves and cares for them and have no problem with helping them if needed. I thank God for letting me be able to do the job I do and the caring and loving person I am.

Hey, I'm Shakara Boles and for over the last 2 years and 4 months I been working with resident in a nursing home. I have a bachelors in psychology. But some where along the way I just fell in love with taking care of people. I knew that I wanted to help people but did not know it was by becoming a CNA. I'm very hardworking, determined, kind hearted, loving, and caring. Also ontop of working I am a mother of a 5 year old daughter and 6 months ago added another child into my daily routine my 4 year old niece. I'm a cheer coach ontop of that but never is to busy to take care of everything that's need to be done. I really didn't know what I would be doing after graduating school but before I graduated from college; I took a CNA course to make extra money but after doing it for so long I just fell in love with it all and I just couldn't leave it. I enjoy every moment about being a caregiver because I know I'm making a big difference into someone else life especially someone family member that they care for. It's never a dual moment having this as a career but it helps motivate you and keep you up on your toes to make sure that someone that is not related to you get all the help they need. I am proud of everything I have accomplish in my life time because I'm making a future that not only for me but my child and niece as well. One thing I am proud of that I can say is that becaming a CNA was the best decision I made because it helped me to become a better person and my love has grown even more because of this. I would not change any decision I made to become one.

I learn that they are still people just like the rest of us they just need a little bit more attention and patience to care for but they are worth every minute.
