Hey, I'm Shakara Boles and for over the last 2 years and 4 months I been working with resident in a nursing home. I have a bachelors in psychology. But some where along the way I just fell in love with taking care of people. I knew that I wanted to help people but did not know it was by becoming a CNA. I'm very hardworking, determined, kind hearted, loving, and caring. Also ontop of working I am a mother of a 5 year old daughter and 6 months ago added another child into my daily routine my 4 year old niece. I'm a cheer coach ontop of that but never is to busy to take care of everything that's need to be done. I really didn't know what I would be doing after graduating school but before I graduated from college; I took a CNA course to make extra money but after doing it for so long I just fell in love with it all and I just couldn't leave it. I enjoy every moment about being a caregiver because I know I'm making a big difference into someone else life especially someone family member that they care for. It's never a dual moment having this as a career but it helps motivate you and keep you up on your toes to make sure that someone that is not related to you get all the help they need. I am proud of everything I have accomplish in my life time because I'm making a future that not only for me but my child and niece as well. One thing I am proud of that I can say is that becaming a CNA was the best decision I made because it helped me to become a better person and my love has grown even more because of this. I would not change any decision I made to become one.

I have been in this field as a Resident Assistant/Home Health Aide for 6 years with a specialty in dementia and Alzheimer's disease. I have numerous certifications to provide of training for dementia and Alzheimer's as well with impeccable references.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I'm patient, attentive, caring, loyal, dependable, compassionate and most of all I provide care from the heart as if I was caring for my own love one. What attracted me to being a caregiver is during my childhood I gained a passion for caring for other people after taking care my dad, grandmother, and mom. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I can be of assistant to people that still have strive in life but just need companionship and a caring heart to help them get through their daily task like they use to. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is being in the healthcare field for 8 plus years and now have now started my own Companion Care Sitter Service to provide Heaven Sent care to people and their loved ones.

I have work with people who have Alzheimer's tracheotomy, dialysis I can take blood give insuline, dispense medicine, use a hoyer lift, change dipers give bed baths and showers assist in walking and help with physical and occupational therapy, I also cook and clean. I love being able to go into someone's household and be an asset to them helping to live out the the rest of their life or just helping them have the best quality of life living at home and being comfortable there. I am also a Medical Assistant and CPR and First Aide certified. I also have 16 years experience

I have loved being around elderly people since i was young. But when i got older I got more into it as far as taking care of them, and making sure they are ok and don't need anything as long as they're in my care. I also have fell in love with families of my patients. I call myself a caregiver because it is something I love to do and will do until I can't anymore or until I become one of the elderly and be treated how I would treat my mom or grandmom.
