Hello my name is Brittany, I have been a caregiver since 2015. I became a caregiver due to a previous job at a pharmacy. There was an incident where a lady had fell before i got there and couldn't get up and she had been there for almost a hour and if I wouldn't have shown up no telling how much longer it would've taken somebody to notice. At that time I knew care giving was what i was suppose to do. The best thing that I love being a care giver is being able to help those that need it. I feel like God has given me a gift of compassion that spills over in everything that I do. I have always had a passion for helping people. I have been to nursing school, but because of unforeseen circumstances, had to quit one month before graduating. I started working as a caregiver shortly after that about 10 years ago. I have worked for clients with dementia, Parkinson's disease, cancer and just for companionship. I have assisted with all ADL's, bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, shopping, medication, ambulatory assistance, doctor appointments, running errands, etc. I love being able to help someone in the stage of life where most feel like they are a burden and useless. I try my best to help them feel independent and useful, as well as have dignity that they may feel they have lost. I always try my best to treat each client as I would my own family. Everyone deserves to feel loved and important. God says to treat everyone as you would want to be treated.
