Hello, I'm Tamika I live in Hoyt, Kansas. I've been a Certified Nursing Assistant since 2014 in the state of Kansas. Previously, I was a Certified Nursing Assistant/Medication Aide in Nebraska started in 2011, before becoming certified in Kansas. I really enjoy working with patients/clients who need assistance with activities of daily living, whether its getting up and ready for the day, medication reminders, ambulation assistance, meal preparation, or just compainonship. I became a Certified Nursing Assistant because I enjoy making someones day bright by just a simple smile. I'm a single mom of a 4 year old boy. I work August through May as a Special Education Para with visually impaired children, for local school district.

I am a caregiver. I cook and I clean and I communicate. I am detail oriented and open minded to every families individuality. I am capable of toileting and know how to utilize a gait belt and hoyer lifts. I can assist with bathing toileting medication reminders laundry running errands following diet restrictions in meal prep health monitoring following a care plan and communication with doctor patient and family members if requested. I also have extensive experience with dementia patient care as well as catheter care. I am a solid emotional support and stable companion.

I have always been interested in jobs that deal with the care of a persons lifestyle and I never hesitate when it comes to lending a hand to someone who needs it. I am very flexible with schedules and dealing with different clients, and I can easily adapt to new environments and the surroundings. I have experience in both home care and in a skilled nursing facility. My favorite part of my job on top of helping others is getting to know the resident I am caring for. As a caregiver you can spend more time with your client getting to know them better, which makes caring for them more of like a hobby than a job.

I believe that I am a good care giver because I am so easy to get along with and I just everyone. I decided to go in the direction of health care because I feel that it is almost second nature to me to help out where and when I can with being a mother of 4 kids. This asks what attracted me to the healthcare provision and to be honest in the very beginning it actually just kinda fell right in my lap. My husband because disabled and I was a stay at home mom with no schooling or work underneath me and it was time I had to help support my family. It was just the right timing that Kne-cap was running a program where they was helping people go through school to get them somewhere. I decided that was my opportunity and to grab it while it was available. I am proud of myself because I got both my CNA and HHA with the help and got a job and stuck with the first one and just loved my client. From there I decided to take it even farther and get my associates degree in Business Health while working full-time and being a mom of 4 small kids. I have no work history for this under my belt at this giving time.

I am a caring, compassionate, hard worker who loves to work with both children and the elderly! I want to help children grow and be their own person . The elderly have done so much for us and I want to give back to them as much as I possibly can. The reason I love caring for both is because they are, in my personal opinion, so innocent and loving. I love simply talking and helping both with anything they may need! I have a 7 year old sister that I constantly watch as well!

I have always had a heart for caregiving and have strove to provide the best care to my family members. My grandfather moved into our home in 2018, and I have since helped care for him. I have my CNA certification to better equip myself to help with ADLs and am excited for what the future holds.

I became a caregiver because I grew up going to the nursing homes that my mother worked at and I loved it! It just seemed the natural choice for me. It give me a great sense of pride to be able to improve the quality of life for my clients.
