For the past 9 years I was a Personal Caregiver for a 98 year old elderly woman with errands, paperwork, Dr. appointments,and grocery shopping. I also helped an elderly man in his 80's with Parkinson's for 1 1/2 years. During that time I was responsible for medication management, wound care, bathing, personal grooming, dressing, meal prep, feeding if needed, house cleaning, and laundry. I believe that's what makes me a great care giver besides the fact that I am well experienced in bed transfers to toilet/sitting device and or wheelchair as well as usage of the Hoyerlift for bedbound clients. I have been doing home care since I was 20 years old and I have work for maybe 5 to 6 agencies throughout the past 15 years of off and on again service throught New York City while being a mom of 2 beautiful children who are now all grown up. I always had a way of making people cheer up. I had one clients family that were so happy with my service she wrote a letter to the job to Express her satisfaction with my care for her mother. She said it was my calling from God. I don't want to exaggerate my story but I have been blessed with seeing happy faces, when i arrived in the morning, to a few clients home. With most of my cases. I am definitely grateful for keeping alot of my clients healthy, happy and safe.
