Alzheimer disease, the most common cause of dementia, is caused by irregular protein deposits that form plaques and tangles. The damage leads to neuron death and impairs cognitive function, affecting memory, speech, behavior, and reasoning. Symptoms of early Alzheimer include confusion, forgetfulness, vision problems, poor judgment, and mood changes. More advanced cases might involve difficulty eating, walking, and communicating.
Caregivers for people with Alzheimer can help with a daily routine to promote consistency, food preparation, exercise, transportation and create a secure area to prevent wandering, among other basic needs. It is important to set up an advanced directive early on to give your loved one the opportunity to choose an advocate.

I am very caring and loving. I have over 15 years of experience as a caregiver. I love people! What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is helping in whatever the patient needs help with I will deliver my all and most importantly take care for them. I feel a great satisfaction when i know i was able to do for someone that needed my help. I have always been very compassionate towards people but when my grandma got a stroke a few years back I really understood how hard it is to trust someone with your loved one. She is one of the main reasons why I take great care and take pride in what I do.
1. I became a caregiver because I am naturally drawn towards helping others.
2. I like being a caregiver because I am earning a living by making someones life easier, which makes me feel I am doing a job that has meaning and is worthwhile.
3. A personal achievement I'm proud of is when I became a mother.
4. My other passion is natural health.
What makes me a great caregiver is that I truly do care for people. I believe that there is nothing more rewarding that being able to help some one in need. My prayer is that when I'm in need that someone will also help me the way that I am able and willing to help others.
I am a very punctual person with lots of patience and smiles when dealing with clients especially seniors. I have over 10years experience as a care giver outside the U.S, I have more than 3 years experience in the U.S, caring for clients with Alzheimer and seniors generally. I love taking care of seniors as well as putting smiles on their faces. I have had four different clients who wouldn't talk or get out of bed with other caregivers but did talk, eat and get out of bed with me. I was awarded the best caregiver of the year from Griswold home care. Giving care to some one who can't care for themselves is a passion that I have
1. I grew up going to work in home health care with my mother and helped out a lot i came to love it. Caring for others is my life. Be it my children, family, friends or a personal caregiver, it's in my blood.
2. The people, being needed, appreciated and being helpful to someone who needs it.
3. I was a live in caregiver for a man with brain damage and a brainstem injury. He was totally dependant and had the mindset of a 5 year old. I worked hard with him every day, some days he didn't like me much, but by the end he was walking on his own, cooking his own meals, grocery shopping, using the restroom no longer needed adult diapers taking his medicine bathing and dressing himself and went from being child like to a proud reasonable adult and he no longer needed assistance. He had his life back. I'm very proud of bill Britton!
4. I'm a mother of a 13 year old girl and a 10 year old boy. I'm dependable, even when i don't want to be, i can't disappoint anyone, intentionally, or i feel horrible. I don't have any friends or family living close to me so i spend all my time at home being a mom. Never get out like people tell me to cause i always feel like i have too many responsibilitys I would rather tend to. I'm a pretty boring person I've been told.
Note; My license and cpr certification has expired and I have not yet updated them. I definitely plan to in the near future.
