While there, we were taught to care for total care (bed patients) as well as independent living, and high risk patients. I am very passionate about the care others because solely, I am responsible for their physical, mental and spiritual care, and I take pride in serving others. I've learned so much from the people I've worked with, and hopefully they've learned from me as well. What keeps me attracted to the care of others is the compassion I feel when I'm caring for the individuals I am with. I have a special spot in my heart for Alzheimer's became I am their eyes, ears, and their voice in this world, and I feel the need to be there for them. I am a very flexible individual as I enjoy working in my yard, therefore it makes it easy for me to assist with individuals that enjoy their yard as well, and also alleviates the fear of leaving your loved ones alone. I also enjoy pets, so there's never a problem with my being around them. I have worked well hand-in-hand with hospice care, and able to maintain records, monitor vitals, medicines and report progress to supervisor, physicians and or medical personnel as needed.

I am 51 & I love helping others. Some years ago I was in a car accident & had to learn the way of living again. I do have a limp & cannot get on my knee s to do any work. Because of all I went through & have to be conscious of my surroundings. It makes it easier for me to be in tune with my client. I have experienced the role of needing a caregiver. All though I have a limp I am totally capable of helping & securing the safety of the client. I love helping people and being apart of bringing peace & comfort to families.

I have elderly in-laws that I have been taking care of for the last 10 years. Either one of them have diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular problems, (both have had valve replacements, stents, caths, etc. ) shingles, addiction to pain medicine, and so on. My children and I clean their house on a weekly basis. It helps me know that I am giving them care that they are comfortable. They are eating to their dietary needs. When they are in the hospital, I am the one who stays with them and keeps in contact with the family. I enjoy getting to spend time with them. I am proud of the job I do. There are certain things such as giving them showers that they will let me do that they won't let anyone else do. That makes me happy that they trust me to do something that will make them feel better. If I work for your family, I will treat them as my own.
