I am empathetic, compassionate, nurturing, attentive, dependable, committed, organized, happy, patient, honest, industrious, quiet, energetic, conscientious, clean and kind. As a child, I was always in the company of older folks in my community - so much so, that when I was 17 years old I took care of a 76 years old family friend on the weekends for 3 months while still in high school. I was always running to assist them when the need arises. The elderly comes first for me all the times. I was a volunteer at my church's Assisted Living Facility for 5 years, helping the residents with grooming, dressing, feeding, exercises and just general companionship - chatting and making them happy and joyful. I just have this natural passion and respect for them and humanity in general. I enjoy the satisfaction that engulfs me when I perform a task that they might feel a little embarrassed about but, because of the manner in which it was done, (privacy, respect) they just looked at me and say thank you so much, Joan or just smile confirming satisfaction. I also feel ecstatic and encouraged when family members and friends use words like - "Joan, you are the best" "you are a God-send", "you are special", "Joan, I could never do what you do". and you do your work with such professionalism. I am very proud that, through hard work and commitment to serve , I have gained the trust and respect of all seniors I have met and cared for.

I am a compassionate, reliable, fun , and loving. I am a mom, grandmother, friend and caregiver. I first became a caregiver in 1995, after the loss of a family member and close friend. I have worked in group homes, one on one, senior care, and private duty. I have been trained in Florida, Indiana and Tennessee. I can pass a level 2 background. I have First Aid/ CPR, and a clean driving record. I feel honored to be a caregiver. I am honored to be trusted with families loved ones. I treat each client like I would my own my family. I enjoying seeing my client reach even the smallest of goals. I like cheering them on and assisting them to reach for the stars. In 2003 I worked with a male legally blind, and he only crawled. The mother was told he would never walk, and never see. We found a specialist 2 hours away who made a special lens for my buddy and when he put those glasses, he looked at me and said I see you. My buddy also learn learned to walk with assistance. This was one of my biggest accomplishments.

I am 39 years old and a mother of 4. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. I have been a caregiver for elderly, for over 5 years now. I enjoy meeting new people and love all the stories from their youth. I enjoy being part of helping them smile and reminisce. I also appreciate the friendships I have gained. My youngest child is 10 and I have a lot of free time for work nowadays. I am happy to help others, in any way I can. It is an awesome opportunity to help people to enjoy life again. I am loving and have been told that I have a way with elderly patients. We seem to be able to connect on a lot of levels. I keep in touch with the family's that I have worked with throughout the years. I consider them dear friends of mine and they are my best references. I am taking courses to further my education on multiple things, I enjoy the knowledge and I believe it makes me a better caregiver.
I became a caregiver to bring hope back into patients lives. I helping those that can no longer do for themselves or remember to do. A personal achievement I am proud of is starting my journey in the medical field towards becoming a Registered Nurse. I always have a smile on my face.
( 1 ) I love people, I feel great when I can put a smile on their face, and a hug has this healing power we all need. (2) While caring for my husband, I felt this warmth, a fulfillment in making him comfortable. While working in a nursing home, the patients there needed to feel as if they still mattered.. and to assure them they did, still makes me smile. (3) Caring for and loving my husband until God called his name, and being most honored to have shared in his peace as he took his last breath.
My love for the elderly probably started because I was raised by by dearly beloved aunt who had Parkinson from an early age. For over 25 years, I've chosen to take on this role as a caregiver after seeing the need for caring people. My joy in doing so is to help those that are in need ,live their best life for as long as they possible can!
I am fully insured & certified HHA with CPR and AED. Have a complete level 2 background check upon request. Began my career in health care after taking care of my mother for nearly a year. I look forward to my additional trading and career advancement in working with seniors in their time of most need. I am dedicated, loyal and honest and truly passionate about my chosen career. Assisting the elderly brings me inner joy. After taking care of multiple clients with a variety issues I have decided to continue my education in healthcare and expect to complete my CNA training by years end.
I am a kind, caring, patient, mature adult and I love taking care of patients. I am sad about the changes that have been made to healthcare and I don't feel insurance companies are supporting good care and the providers aren't being allowed to give good care due to all the government mandates and insurance company restrictions. It's a very sad situation for our elders and I love to make sure my patients get the best of care. I have chosen to forego my career in the healthfield setting to work independently for families in need. I feel giving people joy and purpose is what keeps them healthy and happy. I would be happy to help you
