COPD, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, refers to progressive lung disease that make it difficult to breathe such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and certain types of asthma. Those who are exposed to fumes, dust, and chemicals in the workplace are more likely to suffer from COPD. Symptoms of COPD include frequent coughing, wheezing, fatigue, chest pain, and blueness of the lips or nail beds. Caregivers can help optimize airflow by providing drinking water and humidifiers, assist with exercise, maintain healthy eating habits, and keep their living environment free environmental pollutants.

In 2003 I worked with a male legally blind, and he only crawled. The mother was told he would never walk, and never see. We found a specialist 2 hours away who made a special lens for my buddy and when he put those glasses, he looked at me and said I see you. My buddy also learn learned to walk with assistance. This was one of my biggest accomplishments.
First, I love serving people. I am compassionate, patient, kind, trustworthy, punctual, energetic, happy, healthy, clean and responsible. From I was a child I was always assisting the elderly and I just love people in general. I receive great satisfaction when I see those big smiles on their faces. I am proud that my patients love me and miss me when I am off.
I am a kind, caring, patient, mature adult and I love taking care of patients. I am sad about the changes that have been made to healthcare and I don't feel insurance companies are supporting good care and the providers aren't being allowed to give good care due to all the government mandates and insurance company restrictions. It's a very sad situation for our elders and I love to make sure my patients get the best of care. I have chosen to forego my career in the healthfield setting to work independently for families in need. I feel giving people joy and purpose is what keeps them healthy and happy. I would be happy to help you
I have been in the medical field for 20 years working in doctor's offices. My passion is to be a caregiver now. I realize that patients with dementia and Alzheimer's need special care and patience. I have also work with Parkinson's patients. I am medically knowledgeable such as medication and conditions of the patient and when my other patient was in the hospital they wanted me there so that I could speak with the doctor and relay all the information to the family. I am very detail-oriented and punctual.
My love for the elderly probably started because I was raised by by dearly beloved aunt who had Parkinson from an early age. For over 25 years, I've chosen to take on this role as a caregiver after seeing the need for caring people. My joy in doing so is to help those that are in need ,live their best life for as long as they possible can!

( 1 ) I love people, I feel great when I can put a smile on their face, and a hug has this healing power we all need. (2) While caring for my husband, I felt this warmth, a fulfillment in making him comfortable. While working in a nursing home, the patients there needed to feel as if they still mattered.. and to assure them they did, still makes me smile.
