I became a caregiver because I love taking care of people, it gives me a pleasure to see that I can help people who can't help themselves. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I was able to be a caregiver for my mom who had brain cancer but passed last June due to her illness, and still worked as a c.n.a in geriatrics.

I became a caregiver so that I could be able to take care of my mother, I like the one on one care that way I can take better care of the clients. My sisters and I took care of my mother for 14 years. I know she 's was getting the best care at home instead of being in a nursing home. I thank God she lived to be 92 years old. I have learn so much by taking care of her. I have been a Certified Nurse Assistant for 16 year. And I love taking care of peoples, that 's my calling.
"You are a nurturer." My beloved late grandmother always told me this. I love helping people(particularly seniors) have a voice and be heard and to know they are loved and not forgotten. For the last four years of my grandmother's life I was honored to serve as one of her primary caregivers. This included feeding, clothing, cooking, taking her to doctor appointments, and just being someone she could talk to and feel valued as a person and not as a thing. It is because of my grandmother I decided to return to school to get my Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration with a concentration in Long Term Care. I am passionate about our seniors always getting the best care and I know I will be a true asset in making sure that is done. As a caregiver I love knowing I am truly being of service and helping someone. I have a giving heart and don't approach being a caregiver as a job but as a privilege. I am most proud that my grandmother was able to see me start this journey into healthcare and to fulfill my dream of being a caregiver and being there for someone else's grandparent and taking care of them just as much as I took care of my granny.

I've been a home healthcare facilitator in San Diego, CA for the last 12 years. I'm new to McDonough, GA and miss that personal care and being able to assist those in need of accomplishing daily activies. I got into caregiving because my late brother had autism and cerebral palsy. He was mistreated in the school system and transportation services and when I passed I vowed to give my love, time and commitment on helping others succeed in living in the comfort of their homes. I'm extremely active as I'm a competitive bodybuilder/powerlifter able to lift more than the average person. I've have ample experience with devices like defibrillators, hoyer lifts, oxygen tanks, thermometers, glucose monitors and much more. I'm also CPR and first aid certified . I'm extremely patient and treat everyone better than I would myself because I'm already blessed enough.
Hi I'd like to share a little about why I became a nurse. My plan in life was to pursue contemporary dance and to become a beautician. Well I was well on my way when in 1987 right after graduating high school and obtaining my cosmetology license my life suddenly took a different turn. I was given the wrong medication and instantly became a patient. I had great care but one nurse stood out to me. She was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I instantly made a promise that I would become a nurse and be the best at giving care to others!! I love assisting and aiding others to becoming rehabilitated to their natural state of health. I give 110% to those who I provide care for along with their family members.
