Hello, I pray you're reading about me while all is well. You may see that I did not include a particular school of training. This is because all of my experience is hands on, from the private care of my own grandmother to the private care of others and then that as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care. I am a chef by trade, but I have a passion for & love the elderly and mentally disabled. When you have a natural passion for something you excel at it. This is what makes me a wonderful caregiver. I'm always willing to put in any extra time needed to learn new things. I love spending time with the elderly & mentally disabled, & I treat them as I would my own family. I understand that it is not always easy to have someone come into your home to help you do things you've been used to doing on your own. I treat every client of mine with the dignity & respect they deserve and am always willing to go above and beyond to make sure they are cared for. I enjoy listening to their stories, preparing nostalgic meals, & being a motivation & encouragement in any way that I can. I have a little over 8 years experience as a caregiver. I received my CNA from Joliet Junior College in 2008 and did private in home care for 2 years until I got pregnant with my second child and ended up having complications that put me on full bed rest. After I had my daughter I decided to be a stay at home mom. I went back to doing home care in 2015 and have been with the same family ever since. My CNA did expire due to me taking that extended amount of time off and I have never looked into if it was at all possible to get it reinstated because I never needed it. I also was previously CPR certified but that has expired as well but I would have no problem getting re-certified if need be. I have experience in Hospice Care, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, COPD, Anxiety, Depression and PTSD. I can do meal prepping, cooking, light cleaning, run errands, transport to Dr's appts, medication dispensing, bathing, grooming, Etc. The most important thing is be there for companionship.

I like to treat people how I would want to be treated. I put my foot in their shoe everyday and think of it as if it was me this is how I want someone to take care of me when I'm in that frame of mind or injured or sick. When my clients smile I know I did my job well. Being a caregiver you have to have a heart and a positive attitude. I'm very open minded and know what's right and wrong.
