I'm a very social person. I enjoy helping and being there for others. I'm caring and take my job seriously when it comes to my clients whether it be the family or the client themselves. I enjoy the outdoors and going for walks and of course listening to my clients talk about what they like. I also enjoy engaging with my clients in games for cognition. I've worked with clients who have Alzheimer's and/or Dementia for over 14 years as a Memory Care Director and caregiver and have enjoyed every moment. I chose to be a caregiver because I wanted to have that one to one time with a client. I've met some wonderful families and clients over the years and enjoy seeing the smiles on their faces when they see their loved ones enjoying life again. The one achievement I am proud of is when I took the first step into becoming a Memory Care Director/Caregiver. My life has only been blessed because of the choice I made.

My experience as a caregiver has included private home care, volunteer hospice service, taking care of my own family members, and working professionally in a skilled nursing facility as an occupational therapy assistant. My name is Angie Brown, I have experience working in skilled facilities and also assisted living. For the last few years I have been doing home health care. I love being able to help families out and hopefully make a difference, its a very rewarding feeling, I'm proud of the way i take care of my clients and treat them with respect and provide them with the best care possible, I am covid vaccinated and cpr certified.

What attracted me to be a caregiver is the need for more community outreach. To be able to help residents in my community who fall under our "underserved" population to educate and help them better understand the help that they are entitled to!!

Before I became a care giver I had years or experience dealing with healthcare issue in an administrative capacity as well as navigating the system to find appropriate care for my own parents. I loved finding solutions and dealing with issues which would help loved ones improve the quality of life for their family member. These experiences lead me to want to provide hands on care/companionship for those needing more assistance than their families could provide. I've worked privately for families, and through agencies, with my main goal being to enhance quality of life. My clients have all been in the later third of life, most having some form of dementia often with no family close enough to visit on a regular basis. When I worked on my own, it was easier to participate in more actives with client, such as spending holidays together. One year in particular my client and I bought her Christmas tree and other live decorations from the local garden club. We decorated the house beautifully, and prepared together a wonderful Christmas dinner. My family and I including our three dogs, spent the whole day with the client. We all thought it was the best Christmas ever, except poor "Kitty", who was not to thrilled with the canine guests. We took lots of pictures and sent to the client's daughters who lived out of state. They were so pleased to see how happy and relaxed their mother was.
