Before I became a care giver I had years or experience dealing with healthcare issue in an administrative capacity as well as navigating the system to find appropriate care for my own parents. I loved finding solutions and dealing with issues which would help loved ones improve the quality of life for their family member. These experiences lead me to want to provide hands on care/companionship for those needing more assistance than their families could provide. I've worked privately for families, and through agencies, with my main goal being to enhance quality of life. My clients have all been in the later third of life, most having some form of dementia often with no family close enough to visit on a regular basis. When I worked on my own, it was easier to participate in more actives with client, such as spending holidays together. One year in particular my client and I bought her Christmas tree and other live decorations from the local garden club. We decorated the house beautifully, and prepared together a wonderful Christmas dinner. My family and I including our three dogs, spent the whole day with the client. We all thought it was the best Christmas ever, except poor "Kitty", who was not to thrilled with the canine guests. We took lots of pictures and sent to the client's daughters who lived out of state. They were so pleased to see how happy and relaxed their mother was.
I enjoy helping others. I love being a caregiver to be able to help the ones that cannot do for themselves or just being there to make sure they have what they need. I am very dependable and love what I do. I will go above and beyond for my clients as I would want for myself or my family. N
Patient, kind and smiling, with positive approachable attitude, serving my client to the best of my ability. At 62, I consider myself able bodied, unencumbered, and semi-retired. My previous travels to five continents is perhaps an advantage in conversation to caregiving clients, it mostly adds a smile and an expression of wonderment, thereby adding to journey in conversation. My love for love for animals is ten fold, also an advocate for nature.
I love to see the smiles on the clients face when they did something good or even by them self. I love to watch them success in anything they do. I always love caring for others more than myself, everyone else comes first before me. I enjoy being apart of their life and watching them become stronger.
I consider myself a facilitator of healing and learning, which includes being a caregiver. Helping people to achieve their highest level of functioning is what healing is all about which usually includes the process of clients learning new skills. Having been a nurse for 39 years, I have worked at one time or another in almost every aspect of nursing and health care, including many different settings in hospitals, Long Term Care and in the community in group homes, general home health care and community mental health as well as Utilization Review and Education and training. What I have most enjoyed is being able to integrate some of the more holistic aspects of healing and health care into my everyday positions (eg. Nutrition, Stress Management & Relaxation, CranioSacral Therapy, Therapeutic Touch, Color & Sound therapy, etc.). One of the most successful cases I have worked on was a little 8 y.o. boy who had suffered a severe anoxic brain injury after being in a diabetic coma. When I met him, he was confined to a wheelchair, barely able to move more than a finger on his one hand, was fed through a G-tube, not able to walk or talk and required total care. It required intense dedication from his family, assisted in their home by nursing, PT, OT, Speech and many volunteers, but by the end of my time with him 2 years later through an integrated program utilizing many modalities, he was able to walk with a brace, his speech was much improved, he had started toileting himself and was able to eat by mouth again, GT removed. His vision was still not optimal, but had improved significantly and he was able to start attending school again. That was real healing which I was very proud to be a part of!! I can only hope to have opportunities like that again.
Thank you for looking at my profile. My name is Tiffany; have been a caregiver for 15 years. I truly enjoy working with the elderly. I am a hard worker, compassionate, funny, active, dedicated, honest and trustworthy. I am a non-smoker, animal lover and I have my own car. I am hoping to find overnight caregiver work- at least 3 nights per week. I am also available for some daytime c hours each week as well for caregiving.
I became a caregiver at a young age, at 15 I began sitting with a lady while her husband would go out of town. And ever since then care giving has been a passion of mine. I love the stories they tell of their lives. I love being able to care for them and show them love. One of my biggest accomplishments is when I found myself taking care of a lady who seemed to hate everyone around her and didn't want me there to help her. So as I'd go in each morning it was a struggle, But I was determined that it was her illness that caused her to be this way and eventually she came to love me and my company. The staff at the facility where she was living were shocked that she had changed so much because of me and having someone there with her to help her.
I could be a great caregiver. I like try to make sure the person I am working with is always happy with ever situation. I give them there confidentiality unless it something that would harm them. I get along well with everyone. I make sure that person has the thing they need I love to help people in my community to make it a safe place for everyone. I enjoy take time out of my day to help some one in need. I think as a caregiver commination is important to have that tells me if I'm doing my job right and everybody is happy.
