My name is Jennifer. I've been a caregiver for 18 yrs, I am outgoing, reliable, compassionate, professional, a team player, a people's person. I will go above and beyond to make sure my care family and loved ones are happy with my services. I have been a caregiver since I was 17 I started out in the kitchen at a nursing home, and once and a while filled in to help feed the residents. Ever since then I wanted to be part of the nursing team. I love what I do. The top reward in this type of work is helping families make it possible to keep their loved ones home with them and be cared for. I take my job seriously and care for my families as if they were part of mine. I have to say the only achievement that I can take credit for is making the presidents list last year in college, that made me so happy that was something I never accomplished in school when I was growing up. So it made me happy and proud that I worked hard enough and it was recognized.

Ever since freshman year in high school, I have always wanted to do something that related to the medical field. First it was orthopedics and then pharmacy. I did not know that my mind would change to care giver until my junior year. I took a health science technology class starting my junior year. It was a two year class. Junior year was more focused on anatomy and physiology and Senior year we got to decide which path we wanted to go down. I chose the LNA path. I have always wanted to help people and going towards this path seemed like a sure-fire way to get there. I loved doing my clinicals at the two nursing homes near my school. It was an amazing experience. Knowing that I can help someone get through their day a little easier meant the world to me. Almost six years after graduating high school, I am still doing what I love and taking care of the people that need it the most.

I been a daycare, special needs, autism, and a counselor in a group facility with clients who are dealing with trama, addiction, and mental health. I am always looking for something new that involves interaction with others
I first became a care giver because it was easy to get a job as a care giver but then I began to enjoy the fact that I make the difference between a good day or a bad day to my clients by trying my best to meet their needs and making them comfortable and needed .I am a mature woman who has both handicapped and elderly close family members so I know what care and compassion can do to such individuals.

I would be a great caregiver because I am empathetic, patient and great at getting a long with all people of all ages. I am attracted to being a caregiver as I am hoping to feel fulfillment in helping others. I would enjoy the fact that I am helping another person who is in need of my assistance. My personal achievement I am most proud of is that I am a mother of a intelligent, loving, kind 9 year-old son. I have a hard-working, supportive, loving husband of 12 years, who I have supported to get to where he is as a full-time Dental Assistant. I have worked with children in the school district, and I have my ALT4 for teaching HEALTH and Family & Consumer Science (passed the teaching praxis flying colors!! 99% on my Math!). I love my family. I love my two cats. I love art & music. I honestly love helping others (I used to manage the Clinique Counter in Concord for 3 years, I am not into sales and I left it to teach for a bit and spend time with my family- retail hours are horrible, I miss my clients most of all- helping them see the beauty in themselves as well as helping enhance it by playing with skincare and makeup. I also was honored by ELLE magazine in 2012 for my contribution to the beauty industry and was called "Concord's Confidence Maker" as it went on to explain how much I care for my clients and they appreciate me- this was something written by my Clinique Manager, I did not even know I was nominated until I read it!) I love education and helping others. I also volunteer at the Capitol Center of the Arts so I enjoy volunteering my time for the arts and working with my retired, older friends.
