I have taken care of both my grandmother and grandpa for years, this requires cleaning organizing their day to day life's minor medical care and also medicine reminder and being responsible for retrieving refills. My grandfather having diabetes and for a time prostate cancer and my grandmother currently having Dementia. Normalizing their day to day lives is top priority.

I became a caregiver in 2004 because I'd spent the last few years of my grandmother's life helping her while she suffered with dementia. I saw how important it was for them to have someone there to help them with the day to day when family couldn't be. Then after I got into the profession my love for helping others just grew. To see the joy it brings to the person to sometimes just have someone there for a companion. I've been working in child care since 2019 and intend to stay there but I've also began part time home health again since July 2021 and am so thankful that I did. In the last year I have 5 of the absolute most wonderful families that I love going to see, helping them makes my heart smile. One client even tells his wife, "I'm sure glad she's coming today because I miss her, she's a sweet little girl". I feel such a connection with my clients that to me, they aren't just clients, they are family?

My name is Donna, I have always taken care of someone, it's just what I enjoy doing. Always have. Knowing the people I take care of are happy and healthy make me happy. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I wasn't helping or taking care of someone.

I have a wonderful personality I never meet a stranger and I believe helping others is very rewarding.. I love to put a smile on my clients face.. I always went the opposite direction from Healthcare while finding a career. Until I was forced to take on the role, I never thought I was the type. Turns out im exactly the type and maybe even born to do it. I have a natural ability to care for people. I see beyond the brave words and read whats really wrong with people. I love that! To gain the trust of some that aren't so easy to give trust. Its priceless.
