I became a caregiver due to the fact my grandparents who both raised me both passed away in nursing homes. After I saw the care and how they were being treated, I made the decision to become a nurse assistant so I could possibly make a difference. I feel as though I have, I love what I do and couldn't see myself doing anything else. I'm a very compassionate person with a big heart and I truly enjoy helping others. I'm a good talker but a better listener and will do anything to make sure my patient is comfortable and taken care of emotional, physically, and personally. I am a compassionate, patient, loving, and reliable caregiver. I became a caregiver 9 years ago while caring for my grandmother. Right away I knew this was where my heart was at. Since then I have been providing in home patient care and nursing facility care. I enjoy the quality time between patients and myself. I am a mature, friendly, intelligent and fun woman. I have been a caregiver to different family members and lastly to my own mother. She passed away in 2008 from Alzheimer's and liver cancer. I provided much of the care as my mother was a private person. It was rewarding and I learned alot with the AD support group. I spent as much time as possible after retirement, at the nursing home where my aunt was living.
