I went to nursing school to help take care of my brother, but he passed while I was in school. In 1999, my mother had a stroke, and she needed help, so my skills kicked back in and cared for her for over 6 years. After her passing, I continued caregiving to give families peace of mind. So since, 2007, I've been a in home private duty caregiver. Able to help families keep their loved ones at home and I developed a one-on-one care as a professional caregiver.
I enjoy assisting in making a client feel comfortable, happy and well-taken care of during a difficult time. I have 17 years of experience in dementia, senior care and individuals with challenges. I have managed homes for clients and set-up the daily logs and routines to help the transition work better. I knowledge is caring for family members with a wide range difficulties. I'm willing to help medication management, meal prep, light house keeping and bathing. I will offer companionship and try to find other interest to help fulfill their day. I will do all this keeping in mind their independence and dignity.
I am a very patient person, who treats everyone with respect not matter what! What attracted me to being a care giver i must say it just can naturally due to my personality. I had a coworker the suffers with cerebral palsy and was looking for an aid I was so excited and willing to jump right in with no hesitation, and after working for him for a year in a half I decided to go to school to get my personal care certificate in pct. Overall my greatest achievement is working for publix for twenty years providing premier service and now I'm soon to retire In November 2016.
