As a Certified Nursing Assistant with ten plus years of experience, I enjoy getting to know people and contributing to their lives in a positive way. I started of in the caregiving field with taking care of my grandfather. In the process I got to learn a lot and I did enjoy doing it. I treat every client like my own family with love and compassion. Every client had different needs, so I get to understand the client first and foremost. I mostly enjoy the learning process in caregiving, no matter how long one has been a caregiver, we get to learn new things every time. I once had a client who had dementia (late stage), who did not want to go to bed (it was late at night). One thing that the client enjoyed was watching animal documentaries . I showed the client pictures of different animals that I had taken when I went to Kenya and the client calmed down and I was able to redirect the client to bed. My patience with the client helped me assure the client that I was on her side. This scenario really made me proud of the caregiver that I'm becoming. I love what I do.

I enjoy what I do and I love every one I work with no matter there gender, religion, were they come from ,because we are all connected. At the end of the day I get blessed. And just getting to know a person you never knew in your life, brings joy to my heart.

I love what I do as a caregiver, I love helping out or making vulnerable people feel cared for, loved and comfortable by all means because they deserve quality life. I love adding value to people's lives. Being a caregiver I am able to interact directly with my clients and this way I get to know them better and in this way I am able to deliver quality care. I once helped my grandpa at his old age even without any skills of caregiving by then. I ensured he had a quality life by attending to his needs and being his companion and this made him happy

What a great caregiver means to me is to be able to show empathy and compassion toward the clients and families that I work with. By taking the time to fully understand my patient's needs and giving them the patience to work through their rehabilitation at their own pace, I show them that I care about them and that I want to do what I can to help them. One of my personally favorite achievements I'm proud of was helping one of my post-surgery clients at home with PT and OT; and enabling her to walk with a cane again instead of being restricted to a wheelchair.

I pay close attention to detail, as everyone is different. I took care of my blind sister in law and my aging mother in law and developed the desire to help people who used to do things for themselves but can no longer do it. It gives me satisfaction to see them live fulfilled lives despite needing help.
