I have about 20 years of health care experience as a CNA, home health aide, patient care assistant, resident assistant, and my last adventure was as an RN with a hospice organization in Florida. My passion is caring for others. Even as a young girl, I was very attentive toward others needs. I have always put my heart in my work and cared for my patients and clientele, as if they were family. I am very considerate and respectful of others things, personal spaces, likes and dislikes. I easily adapt to personal preferences, as I understand that we all have them. I have been a certified nurse assistant for almost 8 years and I love it. I never dread work and I always find myself smiling. I love caring for people and having them look at me with trust. I have 2 beautiful children who count on only me and they are also proud of what I do.

I have been in the medical field for almost 14 years. Healthcare is my passion. My grandmother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when I was 8 years old. Everyday that I was with her, I done my best to take care of her and get her anything that she needed. She told me that I was her little nurse, and that stuck in my mind. I knew from that moment on that I wanted to be in healthcare. I enjoy taking care of people, getting to know them and doing my best to provide the care that is needed. A personal achievement that makes me most proud would be doing the heimlich maneuver on a choking Vietnam vet successfully. A couple years later his diabetes and edema got worse and he was not expected to make it much longer. I stayed with the family and done my best to make him and his family comfortable during this time and gave them as much support that I could.

I am a Physical Therapist who is changing the direction of my career. I want move outside of my PT career but continue to develop relationships with my clients and help them maximize their quality of life by providing the care they need. I have worked with most medical issues, including dementia, for many years in every setting, from hospital to skilled nursing to Homecare and have helped with toileting, feeding and all aspects of mobility. I became a caregiver when I seen my grandmother go through stage four lung cancer. I seen the way she was treated by her caregivers and the joy they brought to her last days, it made me so happy inside to see that someone cared about her as much as I did. That made me realize how much I wanted to do that for someone and their loved ones. I am a mother of two beautiful girls and it makes me a better caregiver for the fact that I see my patients as my child, for the fact they cannot do for themself. I strive to treat my patients as if everyday was the last and try to make it the best it could possibly be. I'm personally proud of myself for the determination I have. I set my mind to something and I do it. I am a very dependable person because I understand that my patients need me along with their family. I enjoy spending time with my patients and keeping them happy. I'm a very open and loving person, I have always been known for being honest and conplient with my patients wishes and family's concerns. I have had a lot of caregiving experience from my grandmother to my brother who has Down syndrome and isn't capable of caring for himself. I also took care of a man who had cerebral palsy and congested heart failure along with several other things. I cared for him for years until his family moved him out too live with them. I was in charge of everything for him I was there everyday for a year until they hired a part time caregiver. Then I was there everyday but Saturday and Sunday, I fed him every meal and bathed him everyday. I was with him from when he woke up till he was in bed to go to sleep, I gave him all of my attention 24/7. I treated him as if he was my own and mothered him which is my best trait.
