I became a caregiver because seeing my own parents age, I needed to care for them and discovered it to be very satisfying to help people that are in need of a little extra help while keeping there dignity intact.

I have been doing in home senior care for 2+ years. With a local company. I care for my Mother on all post-op situations. I also give her support care weekly. I have just completed the AR CNA course testing out at: 100%+5 written, and 99% clinical. I will test with the state soon. I am out going.l, Self- motivated, and am a stickler for the rules and proceedires. I am most proud of my ability to connect with and advocate for residents/clients.

I love old people ,some are lonely and sick.Been there,not fun .I have become a widow and retired ,it is boring.Want to go back to work partime.Love caregivers because helping one another is part of God's plan

Hi my name is Stacy, I'm 53 yrs. Old. I became a caregiver after the loss of my grandmother. Seeing what my mother went through trying to care for her with very little help with my family other than my sister who lived in the same town and state and was the only one who could personally help my grandmother and mother. After seeing what my mom and sister went through I decided that working as a preschool teacher just wasn't enough for me anymore. So I went to work for a local company here in Fort Smith, AR. And my first night on the job I was sent to a client's home and wasn't informed by anyone that the client's family had all been called to his home to say thier goodbyes he passed away 30 minutes after I got there. It broke my heart to watch his family going through this but it made me feel good that I was able to be there to just care for his basic care so his family could just spend their time with no worries. After that I lost my mother and went through the same thing and was great full that we had a hospice nurse who not only came to care for mother but she took time out of her day to make sure that my sister and myself were doing okay as well. This is when I knew that being a caregiver was my true calling. I want to be able to be the who can help relieve a family some of their worries so they can have as much time with their loved ones and not have to worry about their basic needs knowing that I was there to take on that roll for them . This is my way of paying it forward.

I have been working with Geriatric patients since 2008, after graduating high school. Going into healthcare knowing nothing about it, I began my career working in a Alzheimer's / Dementia unit. Since then I have also worked with post acute patients, those who require care after their hospital stay and are not able to return home right away. I take great pride in my nursing career and caring for others. I enjoy building relationships with my patients and their families. Being a care giver gives me the opportunity to bring joy to someone's life, making life a little easier, and impacting the quality of life for my patients.

Hi I'm DeAnna Bolin , I've work in a senior living and alzheimer unit for Just over 2 years as a Lead Caregiver/Med Aide Tech. I love working with any and all types of people. I decided to become a caregiver after having a severe illness putting me in ICU for 8 days causing me to have to have help with basic daily activities like showering, toilet, walking ,etc. I personally enjoy getting to know the patients (residents) such as their life stories , medical history , likes and dislikes personal interest. My personal achievement that I'm proudest is living past my congestive heart failure and build my family.
