Im patient, with excellent time management skills, detail-oriented. I help with shopping, prepare meals, I clean house , do laundry. Help with activities of daily living like dressing, bathing, administering medications. Aid with transferring in and out of bed. Assist with physical therapy, feeding tubes or other medical procecess. Including appointments and transportation to the doctor or clinic. Being a caregiver is such a great career because you create such a bond with the residents/patients that it doesn't feel like you're a caregiver. You create a bond that makes you feel like a family member.

I was my mom's caretaker for 2 years up until she passed away last year in April from stage 4 cancer. Now I have a other half who is fighting stage two cancer and I take care of him when he's out of chemo. I'm proud that I'm doing something I've always wanted to do even though sometimes it can be rough. But it was always my dream to become a care taker.

Caregiving became my passion when I was asked to help a family member whose health was deteriorating and would not allow an unknown caregiver to help. I am very warm and compassionate by nature, with empathy and understanding of what someone must feel knowing they have lost their independence...of sorts, so I make it a point to make them feel that they are strong and independent I am there to just assist them in what they want to do. I have been fortunate to have a way of helping a person who doesn't want help to welcome it with encouragement and praise. My proudest achievement to date was to get a man the has severe Parkinson's, who could walk but just had no desire too try, as it was just to much effort, too walk daily and now rarely uses a wheelchair.. just his walker. The joy on the face of someone who looks forward to the time they have with you I priceless.

I know I am a very excellent Caregiver because I have a kind heart, humble, honest, friendly, patient, and I have a wonderful time working and helping with elderly people. I am a very hard worker and dedicated to my job. I love what I do dearly and I care so much in regards to elders. I have been doing this all my life with many of my elders including my grandfather, grandmother, mother, father, grand aunts, and grand uncles. I have so much experience and enjoy giving back to elders. I love what I do because it brings me happiness and so much joy!

I've been CNA for 6 years. I work with nursing facility, hospice and care home. I work with quad, stroke, bed bound, dementia, post surgery client and hospice. I can do transfer using gait belt and Hoyer Lift. I can do ADL and feeding. Light housekeeping and taking patient to their appointments. ROM and help clients to be independent as much as they can.
