I have been doing home health care for over 20 yrs now. I love my job and what I do. If I can make someone's life easier then I know I have done my job. I Love people And not just anyone can do this kind of work. You have to have a passion for people, and that's what I have. Every client I have had love my work. I'm good at what I do because I love what I do.

I was raised by my Grandmother so I have an old soul. It was instilled in me to Respect my Elders, All People and their Property. I've worked since I was 14 years old. Every summer I enrolled in the Summer Youth Employment Program. I know the importance of being at work and being on time. Although I do work for the money, my pride in the work delivered earns me every dollar I make. Caring for others is my specialty and I make sure my clients know they're not a burden to me. I became a registered nurse right out of high school. I let my license lapse so I could stay home and take care of my family. Now of course I went back to what I love which is being a caregiver. I'm somewhat of an overachiever. I strive every day to make sure the patient feels secure and well cared for.Their happiness is my happiness.

I am a mother of six grown children. I provide kind, compassionate, professional, health care, and companionship. I care for all my clients like family. I started volunteering in nursing homes, and hospitals when I was 13. Caring for others comes natural to me.

I was born in Lansing MI, and at two I moved to Grand Rapids, I went to Eastern Elementary School and then to Creston High School. I took up Machine Shop and Architectural Drawing. I was the oldest of 12 children. After high school I took a Tool & Die Apprenticeship. I also worked as a volunteer for the fire department. I built a house in Sparta Township where I live with my wife. I retired from Tool Die 2010 because of cancer. Then I started volunteering at Rest Haven Homes which ended up in a paid position. I enjoy making some one happy and to do the things they enjoy and also to be a companion and a friend. I do transportation to doctor appointments, dentist appointments, shopping, movies, out to eat, visit a friend, errands, or travel, I also do in home care with dressing assistance, mobility, exercise, meal planning, and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, etc. I have completed classes on Hospice Care, Dementia, and worked at Rest Haven Homes for 12 years, and 3 1/2 years with Leaves Personal Care.

I am very caring, understanding and loving I enjoy taking care of people, it's my favorite thing to do. I enjoy making people feel better and happier and cared for the most out of everything being a caregiver gives.

I love to cook, clean, I love to be organized. The thing that made me become a caregiver I use the care for my grandma before she passed away and also cared for my aunt that has scoliosis. I know how important it was to my parents to spend there life in their own home and I cared for both of them until they made their transition. I would like to offer someone else this same opportunity whether it is their final days or just need some extra help.
