I think the traits that make me a good candidate for caregiver are that I am empathetic to the client's situation, understanding that I am their to assist the client' in achieving their goals, and I'm an active listener and truly try to get a view of the entire situation going on. I have worked with many different populations with stronger emphases in mental health, developmental disabilities, and addiction and recovery. I have worked with clientele as young as 18 and as old as 90, so I am rather comfortable working with any age group.

I am a 39 year old mother of 4 wonderful children. I am a medication tech and CNA at an assisted living facility in the Kansas City metro. I love my residents and my job. Everyday i get to go to my job is defiently an honor to me. My residents make a difference in my life everyday.

I am a 41 year old female. I have 4 children. My youngest was born in 2002 and was my inspiration for becoming a caregiver. He was born with a couple of syndromes and lots of medical challenges. This I became very good at taking care of him. Was a natural caretaker when I was growing up as I was told from family members and friends. This situation made me want to become a professional caregiver and has allowed me to be able to see some of the most common medical equipment and machinery that is used these days. It has tought me a lot.

I love helping others. It gives me great satisfaction knowing that I am providing a service to those in need. It started in childhood when I began caring for my Brother Jimmy who has a severe Mental Disability to my Son Chris who has Autism/Fragile X Syndrome to my Father with Parkinson's Disease, my Mother with Breast Cancer, my husband with complications from a Sigmoidectomy procedure from Diverticulitis. As a mother I feel I have a natural fit when it comes to paying attention and listening and taking care of those who desperately need assistance from us who's heart is in the right place.

I became a caregiver because that is what I love to do. I enjoy taking care of others. If someone is in need of something I am there to help. I have achieved a level of confidence in this career choice that allows me to help my patients at any level of care that is needed. I am a wife and a mother of three, I think I have experience in all levels of home care.

I love talking to and getting to know those I take care of and their families. I am a very hard worker, and when it comes to taking care of others, I take my job very seriously.

I became a caregiver because I believe we all deserve quality care in times of sickness and end of life. I have been a licensed care giver since 2006 but my first job in health was in 1999. I am CPR certified and I currently have an EMT license as well as a CNA. I am experienced in almost all area of care. I would love to take care of your loved one in your home.

I love being a caregiver because there are a lot of people/senior citizens that need excellent care. I am that person and I love what I do. I will go out the way to make sure that your loved ones are well taken care of. Seeing our seniors growing older and their health decline makes me want to be there for them. I got into this field because I care about the well being of our Seniors.

I'm not sure what led me to start my first job at Heartland Residential Care but that was were I found my nact and love as far as a job. U found it so rewarding to be able to help someone whom without me couldn't do it themselves. But in 2010 I got breast cancer. And as I was going thru the process of treatment, I was so sick but I had no one to help care for me. I realized how important just how wonderful it would have been to have a little help. So now I've been cancer free soon it will be six yrs. I have #1 realized how important it is to have someone whom you can depend on and #2 I feel I beat cancer and it's time to make my life count. If I can just help one person out there that needs a helping hand. Whether it is maybe cooking them a meal, cleaning the floors or just be an ear for someone to talk to. I want to be able to come home from my workday feeling that just maybe I've made a difference in someone's life that day. It's a satisfaction that I just can't explain.

I have been a NA/CNA for 20 yrs now because I love caring for people. I enjoy seeing the people I care for progress in their recovery. Then by the time they are able to go home knowing that I was able to assist them and be part of their recovery journey is always wonderful. I've had many rewards throughout my 20 yrs as a caregiver. I am currently the outstanding employee of the month on unit at NKCH.
