What makes me a great caregiver to me are I will go above and beyond for my residents a are whomever I work for. I am a perfectionist down to the last detail. What 1st attracted me to being a caregiver was my Grandmother she was an LPN up until her 2nd Surgery and was very proud of beinging an LPN. What solidified my beinging a caregiver are a CNA was my oldest son which put me in the role early on of becoming a caregiver He was had to have several surgeries do to a rare Gastrointestinal situation which caused him to be on An IV at all times, a feeding tube and a colostomy Bag for while but not anymore he is 16 now and will be celebrating 17 years of life in 6 month with none of the above. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is simply just the pure love of being able to help someone out period. Being able to see my 1st patient my oldest son see 16 and knowing it was partly my aiding in his care that got him to this milestone in his life is my personal achievement.

My mother Why?? She is my biggest fans who always admired and motivated me to believe myself I will become a great caregiver, and helping for those who really needs my help. Seen I work with my client Home , I always smile and asked them, Are you okay? It's like a big improvement to me to relieve there pain.but to see my client happy and healthy and smile. And I guarantee 100% do my best to make sure my clients families are trust me to take care there family member who they love so much..... I am honestly, loyalty, trust, love,an Care an always patient and honor my words an truthful.

I think the traits that make me a good candidate for caregiver are that I am empathetic to the client's situation, understanding that I am their to assist the client' in achieving their goals, and I'm an active listener and truly try to get a view of the entire situation going on. I have worked with many different populations with stronger emphases in mental health, developmental disabilities, and addiction and recovery. I have worked with clientele as young as 18 and as old as 90, so I am rather comfortable working with any age group.

I am a 41 year old female. I have 4 children. My youngest was born in 2002 and was my inspiration for becoming a caregiver. He was born with a couple of syndromes and lots of medical challenges. This I became very good at taking care of him. Was a natural caretaker when I was growing up as I was told from family members and friends. This situation made me want to become a professional caregiver and has allowed me to be able to see some of the most common medical equipment and machinery that is used these days. It started in childhood when I began caring for my Brother Jimmy who has a severe Mental Disability to my Son Chris who has Autism/Fragile X Syndrome to my Father with Parkinson's Disease, my Mother with Breast Cancer, my husband with complications from a Sigmoidectomy procedure from Diverticulitis. As a mother I feel I have a natural fit when it comes to paying attention and listening and taking care of those who desperately need assistance from us who's heart is in the right place.
