Active License/Certificates LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) License Medication Certificate, Dementia Certificate, Hospice and Palliative Care Certificate, 5 years of experience working with patients in hospice care - End of Life stage. Experience with Dementia, ALS, Parkinson's, COPD, and Cancer. I'm a diverse, trustworthy, reliable, non-smoking person with an out-going personality and positive attitude! I became a caregiver 20 plus years ago because I like working with people and I like making a difference in people's lives. it makes me really happy when I'm working with the elderly or just working with people in general when I know I make a difference in their life. I started out caregiving while caring for my grandmother about 15 years ago. The time we spent together was a wonderful bonding experience and I wanted to continue with that feeling of accomplishment I get when helping someone and knowing I am making a positive difference in their lives.

I hope to bring a smile each day to every client I work with; I'm a very positive person and reliable. I have nearly 30 years experience in the healthcare field. I was working in a factory setting in my youth and really was not happy. I saw an ad for a CNA class at the Rochester Manor, so by keeping my job and taking the class at night, I was able to learn a whole new career, which has been so gratifying. The people that I have been able to meet over the years are truly inspiring, and they all have a story to tell, and I enjoy lending an ear.

I have become, what I consider myself to be, an amazing caregiver. I have a huge heart and i tend to put everyone I care for above and beyond everything else. I listen carefully to peoples needs as well as wants and do my very best to provide what is expected by them or the families NO QUESTION. I decided I wanted to be a caregiver at a young age. My grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and everyone in my family brushed it off as just 'old age'. Well, I wanted to learn more about this dementia and see what I could do to help better her life and the lives of others in this predicament. What I am proud of most is all the positive feedback from families as well as co-workers, managers included, about how great I am and how lucky a place or family is to have me. I have many personal achievements but the one I am most proud of, is I will ALWAYS and forever as long as I am caring for loved ones of my own or others, put quality over quantity. I have learned that people need good care no matter the life span, young or old.
