What makes me a great caregiver is my heart. I have always cared about the well being of others, it makes me happy knowing that I am able to help people. What I like about caregiving is meeting new people, and being able to do all I can to comfort and help. A personal achievement I am really proud of is working with someone with CP. This person was in a wheel chair for a long number of years, this person gave up long ago. I came in and got to help this person and care for them helped with motaviating this person to start exercising and then we started taking small steps, thru out my years of caregiving with this person. I was able to help get this person out of the chair and to start walking again. It made me feel so good to see smiles from my client and the family because of how I dedicated myself to her, I was able to give hope and was able to see my client do somethings on their own. It is definitely a highlight to caregiving.

I am kind . I have worked with alot of different types of personalities thru out the years . I can adjust to fit all. I am loving for I was raised by grandparents and they to me are our biggest treasures. I love doing what I do been doing it 19 years. I always treat my clients with the same empathy respect and kindness as my own. And appreciate families that choose to continue to take care for there family members. So I try to help as much as possible to help things run smooth. So that can continue. I love what I do . I do the upmost to keep independency as much as possible. It is important . It gives them the sense of purpose confidence. I've worked with bed ridden patients . Alzheimer's dementia diabetes ,amputees etc. I never leave someone's home without being sure I have left them with a smile on there face. I love making people smile and always even in a line making someone smile . That might need it. I am very out going. Self motivated and do things that need to be done . Very observant and always take the chance to make someones quality of life better . By observing lessening.

Looking for home care jobs. Enjoy taking care of the elderly and learning from them. I have had my STNA for about 6 years . I have a caring heart and am very hardworking. Always aware of the physical and emotional needs of this in my care. What attracted me to being a caregiver, when my grandma passed away, I knew that my grandfather was lonely and needed some assistance in his care. I started reading his mail to him, taking him around to his appointments, shopping, cleaning his home and just keeping him company and I knew from there that I wanted to help anyone in need. A neighbor had Cerebral Palsy and she was getting worse. She needed help with transportation to her appointments and shopping, cleaning her apartment. Being a great companion, caring, communicating with elderly when necessary and having a lot of patience.
