Over 20 yrs experience caring for people of all ages and abilities. 5+ yrs as a CNA in PDX first working in a small facility for people w/ HIV/AIDS then onto temping at LTC Facilities all over PDX. 18 years working for UCP, OR w/ adults w/ CP & intellectual disabilities. 5+ yrs as an "Enhanced Worker" HCW doing in-home care for Aging & Disability Services. Now certified in WA as a HCA to work in-homes. Additional interests & education include: Cosmetology, Naturopathic Assistant & Juice Bar Manager. Study Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan & Meditation. Some massage school experience too. Strong interest in Nutrition and Whole Foods Cooking & Herbs. I believe we are here to help and learn from one another and I chose caregiving because it allows me to really thrive while hopefully uplifting or at least easing the lives of those I work with.

Hi I am Heather I recently returned back to my favorite career. I took a break to start my farm and it is going very well. I raise AGH pigs along with chicken of various breeds. I now have enough free time to work as a caregiver again. I have worked in facilities and in home care. Home care is my favorite because clients are able to stay in their home. I love all aspects of being a caregiver it is very fulfilling. I really enjoy being able to help others. I have my OSBN CNA license. I look forward to caring for your family.

I've been in the healthcare field for about 16 years. I have experience with elder care and DD care. I have managed group homes and started my own in home care agency. I am very passionate about what I do as I feel I was put here on earth to make a positive impact for those I serve and care for. I feel that if I can somehow make someones life more enjoyable or bring a higher level to their quality of life then I have done my job. These are our parents, grandparents, friends and family who need quality care and I know when I am with them, they are receiving genuine love and care. It brings me joy to the positive impact I make in their lives.

I have been in this field for 23 years.. I absolutely love what I do. I take pride in the fact that I can help somebody stay healthy and happy with quality care, in their own home . I began my career in my teen years, taking care of my grandparents before their passings, and knew then, that this was my calling. The relationships and bonds I have been blessed to experience and be part of is unmatchable, being such a special part of someone's life is irreplaceable to me, and something I cherish. I take my job very seriously, and safety is always of #1 importance to me, for my clients as well as myself. I am professional, a problem solver, reliable, and can work with any level of care needed as stages may progress, as I have worked with everything... from companion care all the way to end of life, and medical care such as trach's and respirators, etc, and everything in between.

Having patience, understanding and a good communicating skills are my good traits to be a successful caregiver. I like to become caregiver being in this position i can practice my passion to taking care and help them. I'm very compassionate, energetic, caring, ability to bring peace into a situation that is in turmoil, I can see what needs to be done and do it and often the client doesn't even know its something they need or desire. I'm strong in a difficult situation and have very good communication skills. while studying mental health I took a job for Home Watch in Portland, OR to supplement my income, I loved it so much I never left the field after graduating. I enjoy bringing comfort to my clients and doing my work to the best of my ability. My clients always know they can trust me as do their families or friends.

I'm a great caregiver because I have a heart to help others who can't do for themselves. I enjoy the companionship myself and getting to know someone and there family. I treat them as if they were my grandparents who I lost at a young age.
