I knew I wanted to take care of people when my grandpa was sick when I was in 6th and 7th grade. Visiting him in the nursing home and hospital pushing him around and making him smile was the best feeling ever. I decided to go to Lawrence County Vo-tech for my 11th and 12th grade year to become a CNA and started working my senior year in November 2008. In 2012 I left that job to go to the facility my grandma resided in until she was well enough to go home which was about 2.5 years, and continued to work until I moved in 2016 I currently am working for St. Barnabas now as a hospice aide part time. I recieved an award for employee of the month in August from them. Overall, I enjoy helping care for people, and make them feel good about themselves. A smile of appreciation in return is so rewarding.

Am a patient person l love helping people, and most especially where l have one - on one interaction with others. I enjoy taking care of the elder family members and l would like to help others in this way. I love older adults and l feel l can get along well with a variety of elders.

I have been a trained caregiver in nursing homes and private homes. If needed or wanted, I am able to escort clients to appointments, or any community places. What makes me a good caregiver is that I have 9 years experience I get along great with people and I have patience. I love the fact that my son sees and knows what I do and said he wants to do the same thing I do when he gets older.

I am a wife and mom of 4. My first caregiving experience was almost 16 years ago taking care of my mom, along with an infant, a 3 yr old, and a 7 yr old, when she had terminal cancer. I took care of my dad until he passed away in 2020. And for the last 5 years I also took care of my elderly neighbors. I've been told that I'm a born nurturer, and I just love taking care of people.

I was a care giver for my wife while she was going through cancer treatments. I assisted her in daily chores such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, etc. I do not have any experience in helping the elderly. I retired in November of 2013 and returned to full-time employment as a Realtor in April of 2017. After returning to work as a Realtor I have decided not to continue. I need a job to supplement my income but I do not want to work a full-time job. I do want to help others that need assistance in living a good quality of life.
