I knew I wanted to take care of people when my grandpa was sick when I was in 6th and 7th grade. Visiting him in the nursing home and hospital pushing him around and making him smile was the best feeling ever. I decided to go to Lawrence County Vo-tech for my 11th and 12th grade year to become a CNA and started working my senior year in November 2008. In 2012 I left that job to go to the facility my grandma resided in until she was well enough to go home which was about 2.5 years, and continued to work until I moved in 2016 I currently am working for St. Barnabas now as a hospice aide part time. I recieved an award for employee of the month in August from them. Overall, I enjoy helping care for people, and make them feel good about themselves. A smile of appreciation in return is so rewarding.

What makes me a good caregiver is that I have 9 years experience I get along great with people and I have patience. I love the fact that my son sees and knows what I do and said he wants to do the same thing I do when he gets older.

I am a wife and mom of 4. My first caregiving experience was almost 16 years ago taking care of my mom, along with an infant, a 3 yr old, and a 7 yr old, when she had terminal cancer. I took care of my dad until he passed away in 2020. And for the last 5 years I also took care of my elderly neighbors. I've been told that I'm a born nurturer, and I just love taking care of people.

I was a care giver for my wife while she was going through cancer treatments. I assisted her in daily chores such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, etc. I do not have any experience in helping the elderly. I retired in November of 2013 and returned to full-time employment as a Realtor in April of 2017. After returning to work as a Realtor I have decided not to continue. I need a job to supplement my income but I do not want to work a full-time job. I do want to help others that need assistance in living a good quality of life.

Enjoy being a companion, reading to them, getting meals prepared, bathing and giving them their medication. Will go the extra mile. Idon't smoke , I'm a church goer. I like keeping busy. What drove me to be a passionate caregiver, was the influence of my mother and how she effected many families lives. Although, I have 2.5 years experience legally working as a caregiver/nurses aide, I have had experience going to work with my mother in my early years of high school. Also, I have many family members/close family friends who have struggled with disabilities, such as Alzheimer's, dementia, healing from surgeries, MR, paralyzed, in wheel chairs, anxiety, cancer, and depression. So including all of those, I have years upon years of experience. I have my own vehicle/drivers license/ etc. so I would be available to provide transportation. I would be a great caregiver for you and your family because I have a GREAT passion for helping/Caring for others, and making them comfortable no matter the situation.
