Hello my name is Roxanne Hodge.... I have been a CNA, PCT, Mental health worker for 43 years. I love my field of work, I believe it is my calling from God to serve and help others to heal, recover, and be comfortable in their home, hospital, rest home or mental institution as well as group homes. I have a great love for human life especially the elderly and children. I feel blessed when I am blessing others with their needs. If I can help somebody then my living shall not be in vein.

I have always had great compassion for those who are sick, the elderly, and disabled. I began my caregiving by volunteering for Hospice for seven years. CNAs happily taught me how to do bed baths, empty urinals, and even how to change bed linens with patient still in bed. I am comfortable, and have experience in just about all facets of caregiving, which includes personal hygiene, including bathing, feeding, safely transferring patient from bed to chair, etc. I am comfortable using a Hoyer lift, and have changed and sanitized urine bags. Upon moving to a new city I began doing home caregiving as a way of paying my bills, and family recommendations kept me busy. I have enjoyed caring for the ELDERY with all kinds of medical problems, and DISABLED people, as well. In addition to passing the background check required for this site, I have a LEVEL II BACKGROUND CHECK which is far deeper than this site requires. I have taken and passed the HHA test, although I did not take the class. I am CPR certified, have had a two step TB test, I presently work for a local caregiving agency, but they are unable to provide me with enough hours, so I am eager to get full time hours! I have many references I can give if you are interested in knowing more. I prefer days, but I am open for any schedule.

I'm a caring person

I have 16 years of care experience. Have worked with mentally challenged and disabled. Specialize in Alzheimer's/ Dementia clients along with short/long term hospice care. Full care assistance from daily hygiene, meal preparation, medications prompting, transporting and light housekeeping. I am a non smoker, honest, respectful and reliable. I'm fully Covid vaccinated and don't have a problem with wearing a mask.

I am very compassionate and empathetic with excellent communication skills. I grew up with so much love and attention especially from my grand parents so when when my grandmother became ill with dementia it was a great honour to have the pleasure of taking care of her. Because I know who she was before the illness I could provide her all the love, respect and understanding she deserved. Continuing to care for my grand father after my grand mother died made me realize I wanted to build a career in care giving. Every day I have spent giving care has been indescribable blessing and inestimable pleasure. Learning from the wealth of experience of my Clients when we talk and seeing the world through their eyes is prizeless. Aging is inevitable to all and the least the younger ones can do is to show and give the older ones all the respect, care, tender love, attention and most importantly, revive their self-esteem.

I have 35 years of caregiving experience. Have taken care of patients from the age of birth to 101 yrs old. Worked with hospice care, psychiatrics hospital, parkinson's, cancer, the blind, cognitive problems, paralyzed patients, dementia and many other illnesses and diseases.

I have worked in the health field for 45 years. I have a passion for caring for the elderly. I started out in high school as a Red Cross Volunteer at a local Nursing Home. I owned and operated my own Veterans Foster Home out of my Old Victorian 5 bed/4 bath Home on the Arkansas River in Colorado for 8 yrs.
