Hello, I'm Elizabeth McKittrick. I'm married with 2 children. I enjoy doing home care because I feel it is a more personal relationship with someone. I love taking care of people. I'm experienced in many different settings with a variety of patients. I'm experienced in taking care of special needs clients, Alzheimer and Dementia patients, as well as patients with Parkinson's patients. Most recently, I have worked with patients with mental health challenges. I am easy to get along with, I adapt easily to each patient and meeting their needs while respecting their home. I am CPR certified and have had license and training as a CNA. I did let my license expire as I was a stay at home mom to my children. I am very compassionate and empathetic with excellent communication skills. I grew up with so much love and attention especially from my grand parents so when when my grandmother became ill with dementia it was a great honour to have the pleasure of taking care of her. Because I know who she was before the illness I could provide her all the love, respect and understanding she deserved. Continuing to care for my grand father after my grand mother died made me realize I wanted to build a career in care giving. Every day I have spent giving care has been indescribable blessing and inestimable pleasure. Learning from the wealth of experience of my Clients when we talk and seeing the world through their eyes is prizeless. Aging is inevitable to all and the least the younger ones can do is to show and give the older ones all the respect, care, tender love, attention and most importantly, revive their self-esteem.

I have worked in the health field for 45 years. I have a passion for caring for the elderly. I started out in high school as a Red Cross Volunteer at a local Nursing Home. I owned and operated my own Veterans Foster Home out of my Old Victorian 5 bed/4 bath Home on the Arkansas River in Colorado for 8 yrs.

I became a care giver because I love working with people especially the elderly. I love taking care of the elderly and I love the companionship. They have so many stories to tell and they still have so much to offer. They have sent their lives taking care of people and it's time for someone to care for them. My greatest personal achievement is obtaining my CNA license. It is the first thing I have started and finished since high school. Also, being a mother is another thing that is important to me. I am a mother of 2 lovely children I am 31 years old. I work at the Abbeville Nursing Home.

I was a critical care nurse for 12 years in Orlando Florida, I am retired . I took care of my father with cancer for 6 years and my mother who had cancer a stroke blind in one eye for years. I also help the Amish in Ohio with elderly care medical instruction and medications. I enjoy working with elderly people and being an individual with mild fibromyalgia myself I understand and can relate to a person experiencing pain and disability. My mother was a nurse and worked until her 70,s. I worked in the funeral industry 6 years after retiring from nursing. I attend church pre-Covid on sundays and enjoy my grown grandchildren here in Greenville. I prefer to work afternoons and evenings or weekends.
