I became an EMT-IV 7 years ago, I enjoy the medical field and the sense of accomplishment it gives me after helping someone. I resigned from EMS because of the 48 and some 72 hour straight shifts. It was interfering with my family time. My father in law was in a horrible ma 8 years ago and it left him immobile, he was a diabetic, had a feeding tube and colostomy bag.
